Absolutely I use WINE. Mostly for Netflix in the wine-pipelight package. Until netflix is supported natively, Pipelight is where its at, highly recommend.

Pipelight i use too. It seems only fully work under firefox, but nevertheless a great project. You never have the feeling it runs trough an emulator and that's a nice thing.

I have installed Wine just to make sure that the 'hidden object games' my wife loves are running smoothly, and most of the time they do.

I have problems with them. It works bad, and the CPU load is very high.

I do not have a problem with them, but the CPU is working hard, that is true, I think this is normal while using WINE.

BTW, this is WINE on Arch, my wife's laptop with WINE is running Xubuntu, same 'problem'

It's for me a bit strange, because if I run the same games under W7, the CPU load is very light.

WINE sucks, literally.
When she fires up her game the vent is blowing like a whirlwind all the time, don't know about the exact usage because I'm not able to monitor it.

yeah the overheating has been a problem for ages that's all part of the reverse engineering i suppose,it doesn't have the optimizations of direct x in the graphics stack

I've got a lot of old Window's games so quite a few.

Right now the original Mount & Blade w/The Last Days(of the Third Age) mod.  For me it runs better under WINE than 64-bit Win7 as I never could solve the 'vertex buffer' error.  Also have Prince of Qin and Zeus+Poseidon installed.

I've also had good luck with Jagged Alliance 2, another one that works better under WINE.  Lot of sound related crashes with XP and I couldn't get anywhere with Win7 64-bit.  Also Patrician 3(Patrician II Gold), Victoria w/Revolutions expansion, Planescape Torment w/mods, Children of the Nile, Fallout, Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI, both Silent Storms, Knights of Honor and whatever else I'm forgetting.

I haven't tried these with the latest versions of WINE but in the past the original Combat Mission and Slitherines early games, Chariots of War and Gates of Troy, simply don't work.

I have installed under WINE Blizzards New FREE Game Hearthstone and I am addicted to it :)

I couldn't believe that I would have so much fun with a card strategy game ...
