Upstream is fast than ever. Almost every week we have now kernel updates. Some weeks two in a row. Good news is. Linux314 is now LTS. We will use that kernel for our Manjaro 0.8.11 release. So which kernels do we have in line?
Canonical updatesSince some kernels are still relevant for Ubuntu, Canonical provides some extended stable supported kernels. Luis Henriques has linux311
3.11.10.13 with 198 patches currently in review.
Around Kamal Mostafas kernels (38, 313) it is calm.
Upstream updatesGreg Kroah-Hartman announced the review cycle for linux315
3.15.4 featuring
66 patches. The new LTS kernel linux314
3.14.11 will get
59 patches, linux310
3.10.47 will own
46 patches and linux34
3.4.97 has
19 patches to come. They are all expected to be released next Monday. With linux34 I've some issues in i686. Currently version 3.4.95 is the last working kernel which boots up just fine. So if this one doesn't boot on i686 I'll drop linux34 from our support list.
Jiri Slaby announced linux312
3.12.24 which I'm currently building
All kernels will ship BFQ
v7r5.
