I should say that I'd be fine with blowing away the OpenSUSE and using a different bootloader if it's easier. I only plan to run one Linux distro. However, I cannot for now get rid of the Windows installation.

Hey guys!

I have some troubles installing Manjaro 0.8.7 Openbox on my Samsung NP500P4C-AD3BR, because all options for installing bootloader didn't work. For solving, I followed the Archlinux's tutorial for installing grub into UEFI Systems, via chroot (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GRUB#UEFI_systems_2).

Thanks guimendes for the info :)

The method that you mention is the one that I myself used to install Grub-Uefi!, but in my case I was switching from a Bios to Uefi, not fresh Install.

I will add it to the wiki. :)

I think it should be analysed by cli-installer team, but don't know where to post about it... It should debut on next 0.8.8 release

Has anyone published anything further on dual booting in UEFI systems with windows 8? I've installed following the cli Test method but its not designed to dual boot. I believe I should use the efi partition set-up by windows to install grub which will require modifying the current wiki to chroot into the newly installed system. I'm a bit unclear about how to do it. Any advice is appreciated.

@Culinax, should I merge your topic in this thread to make it a bit more comprehensive?

It doesn't really help people if it's only on the 3rd page :/

Run this command: modprobe efivars
If you'd still have problems, try to use arch-chroot instead (see here to see which commands it replaces, but it does a bit more than only that so that's why I recommend trying this as well).

If modprobe efivars doesnt work for you, you may need to install the efibootmgr(and dosfstools) package(s).
Have a look at this thread here http://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=8126.30
and the Wiki http://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=UEFI_-_Install_Guide

Efivars doesn't work also with the other packages of the wiki;
that are just into the live.

I've tried to instal on EFI cli installer without install grub-efi.
Then with Linux-Repair-Disck to install the grub, but it says to enable the repo for grub-efi in Manjaro   :o :o :o ???
