thanks for your reply.

what i have done:
-installed the git version from yaourt
-i went to settings --> keyboard --> (keyboard) shortcuts
-there, i added a new item with the command "/usr/bin/xfce4-popup-whiskermenu" and the keyboard shortcut <Alt>F2

the file /usr/bin/xfce4-popup-whiskermenu is really there. i have also tried adding a new item with the command "xfce4-popup-whiskermenu" and the keyboard shortcut <Alt>F2. when i press <Alt>F2, there is nothing happening!
there is also NO other application with the keyboard shortcut <Alt>F2.

what am i doing wrong?

Are you sure there isn't xfrun4 set to altF2? It is on my system.

I just set the menu to Super_L. Also I hope it's put in the menu bar or it might have some issues popping up at the cursor. Have a look at my screenshot.

Phil: can you put a more recent version from git, as it fixes a bug with not reverting to user name if a full name isn't specified and adds the popup in /usr/bin?

@Ayceman: thanks for your reply.

i have deleted and re-added the whisker menu to my panel after installing the git-version.
i also started a new session (which strangely is not done automatically on my manjaro).

i also deleted and re-added the entry in autostart.

now it works!

it does not feel as natural as synapse yet, but this might change in the future.

Our community is great. Thx to the close work we have already translated Whisker Menu to 8 different languages. More will come. With xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin-1.0.0.36.g173f099-1 those translations actually work now. Due my help Graeme found the issue why no translations got loaded. You will find it soon in our Testing-Branch with other nice updates.

Installed today through pacman. A fantastic addition. Thanks!

It would be great to see options for zeitgeist integration and file manager bookmarks in the future. Otherwise, this is perfect.

Is it possible to add custom application launchers to favorites? I have a Windows app that I just dragged and dropped in my wine folder so no automatic icons in the menu. I made a shortcut for it in the Xfce Desktop but I don't like it there. I want it in the menu to keep my desktop tidy.
Nothing to see here...

Create a .desktop file for the app with the correct details and it should work. I've never used whisker but it should work.
