Thanks for the tutorial StealthPenguin, it's made a BIG difference to the font rendering in FireFox. 8)

I don't know how to answer that question.  :o

You will definitely see changes in font rendering after you follow all the steps and then rebooting the system.

I don't really know if it's something that had happened to other people, and could be very well be hardware/configuration related, but since I'm also running the OB edition, i'll share:

After reboot, fonts size on the desktop would be dramatically reduced, as in a really tiny menu, a smaller conky, but much better font rendering

A lot of people have asked about the Ubuntu infinity fonts - maybe we should speak to the team to see if they can be included as default in a future release? What say ye people? R.

I'm yet to be convinced that the Ubuntu config's make any appreciable difference that cannot already be achieved by using Infinality fonts alone.
Is there a way to put this to the test?

In support of my position the following link shows what I consider are typically Ubuntu styled fonts at the top with my personal preference beneath. Both are without the aid of Ubuntu's configurations and of course I've used the Ubuntu font for the exercise.

I don't think it will be included by default because the packages are from AUR.

In the LCD that I use for my PC, the font rendering is much better with Ubuntu patched fonts over the default/infinality.

I'm pretty sure that the font rendering has something to do with the resolution & the pixel pitch density.

Thanks for the reply StealthPenguin. It was worth the exercise finding out once and for all.
Here are the results when switching to Ubuntu-configs alone. These can be compared to my Infinality fonts a few posts up.
