I got a netbook running manjaro+xfce and after a system upgrade the graphical interface is broken. It happens after I enter with login and password, the screen is like the attached picture. Doing some research I found it could be something related to lightdm, then I've disabled it via systemctl. However it didn't solve the problem, after I run startx (or even exec startxfce4) the problem still there. I also tried to reinstall xfce and clear .config directory, no success in both.

Any idea what I could try to solve this?

The hardware:
Asus eee pc seashell
model: 1215B-BLK065S

AMD APU C50 1.0GHz (dual core) Processor
AMD Radeon HD 6250
DDR3, 2 x SO-DIMM, 2GB
HD: 2.5" SATA 320GB/500GB

Can you post your hardware spec? I think it's a driver problem. Post your /var/log/Xorg-0.log here if possible?  :)

Just a shot in the dark I read on the arch forums that a certain update on some laptops is messing the brightness so that 100% is 0% so the default is now reversed to a black screen as I said just a shot in the dark

@crazyg4merz
I've updated with the hw specs. I'll post xorg log as soon as possible.

@mandog
hmm, ok, I'll try some hits in the brightness keys.

we did have a few screen brightness hiccups about six months ago ... theres a few forum strands you can pursue to eliminate the issue ... and a wiki entry to start you off https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=Optimized_power_settings

@withjaro: I don't which case applies to mine in the wiki page you have posted.

@crazyg4merz: var log: http://pastebin.com/HBg3e6iP

More information:
Just after the login it's possible to see the background image and then the screen starts to oscillate between the background image and the screen I've posted before. After some time its stops on the blank screen.
Using the brightness control keys, increasing or decreasing, I can see the brightness pop up showing the current value, but it has no effect at all.
