Fan not working
« on: 04. May 2016, 00:25:51 »
Hello there.

My Acer ES1-331 laptop have a little fan but it does not work in latest manjaro. But it does work on Ubuntu/debian based distros. I tried Ubuntu Mate 16.04 with an usb drive and i can confirm it works.

I tried to get sudo sensors detect and sudo pwmconfig but no luck. pwmconfig retuns;
Code: [Select]
/usr/bin/pwmconfig: There are no pwm-capable sensor modules installed
What can i do from this point?

Thanks.

My infos:

You're using custom built kernel? Try changing back to official kernel and see if it works?

Code: [Select]
zcat /proc/config.gz > config

But there is an issue. There isn't a file named config.gz

Code: [Select]
zcat /proc/config.gz > config
zsh: no such file or directory: config

Manjaro offers 10+ series of kernel, we even have the series' used in Ubuntu that Canonical maintain. You can install them from the Manjaro Settings Manager then reboot and select the one you want from the advanced options in the Grub boot menu.

Try some series other than 4.4.
