Manjaro-Lxqt "dark" 16.04 released

The team Manjaro LXQt is pleased to announce its last Community Edition. This version follows the one described HERE, and is always at the same time complete and ready to use for all typical everyday office- and multimedia-needs.

It uses the new dark style Kwantum to reduce eyestrain, the stable Manjaro repositories, the latest Manjaro-tools, and is therefore maintained.

We wait for kwin-wayland, kwin-x11 is not considered as stable enough by the lxqt team.  ;)

i am running lxqt with kwin as described here: https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=LXQt_with_kwin

i can confirm that kwin_x11 is not rock solid. i have a crash about every second day. most often, this does not crash my entire system, but my windows start to act all weird for a couple of seconds. afterwards i have to order them again.

i have not managed to get kwin_wayland running, but all i have read about it suggests a less than perfect experience. at least at this point in time!

Hello,

Not sure if this is the place to post this but I installed LXQT dark in a Virtualbox VM. Everything looked good except that the wallpaper was not resizing when I resized the vm window. I though that maybe an update would fix it and so did a pacman -Syyu. And then rebooted. It seems to have completely borked the install. The VM is stuck at the boot screen. Switched consoles and saw that sddm had a segfault. No idea how to proceed.

Thanks for any help.

VBox works very bad on my PC, but very often (not ever), if I resize the window, I must reboot to have the wallpaper full-size. Probably a "normal" behaviour in VBox.

You have rebooted or logout ? Here, I can reboot, no problem (but only when installed in VBox, obviously).

Yes, multiple times. It will simply not boot to a graphical UI. It's stuck at the screen in the attachment. I can switch to another tty. That's how I got the info about the sddm segfault. I have the xfce pre working fine in another VM. I haven't dared update that VM. This is on a Manjaro host (xfce) which has been running solid for several years now.

I have a lxqt 32 bits installed since 3 months, but on the disk, not in vbox, and never got a problem.

I use it to produce 32 bits packages.

I don't doubt it. I suspect it is an issue with Virtualbox drivers in the VM itself. More or less confirmed it. Installed the Enlightenment version in a VM and upgraded with the same issue. I guess I will have to post in another section of the forum for help because I have not been able to figure out what's going on.

Thanks.

I installed there papirus-icon-theme-gtk-git

I do like those papirus icons too. But I downloaded it from https://github.com/LukeStonehm/papirus-icon-theme/archive/master.zip and put it to my .icons folder.

Unfortunately I couldn't get it drawing as it should be (and like you have):
1. in my openbox settings I see how papirus (not dark) icons might look like correctly

but that app can't change my current icon theme

2.So I use LXQt appearance to change to it

and does change icon theme

3.But I still get dark picture of all folder icons

PS: I run not a dark LXQt spin
