keyboard shortcut to close/minimize/maximize window
« on: 22. April 2016, 15:34:16 »
Hello

How do you do that and how do I change the shortcut? I've managed to make shortcuts for chromium, mail etc. but I've haven't figured out how to close/minimize/maximize windows.

I don't think you can do that with lxqt. But you can do it in compiz wm. Maybe try using xfce + compiz combo?

If you don't find the feature in LXQt, remember that it uses Openbox as WM and it has all kinds of well documented shortcuts.
A workaround would be installing wmctrl. Run wmctrl -h to see its options. Then assign wmcltrl commands with the target window :ACTIVE: to your shortcuts.

You can edit ~/.config/openbox/rx.xml file.

Here  comes examples from my config:
Code: [Select]
<keybind key="W-Return">
      <action name="ToggleFullscreen"/>
    </keybind>
    <keybind key="W-B">
      <action name="ToggleDecorations"/>
    </keybind>
    <keybind key="W-d">
      <action name="ToggleShowDesktop"/>
    </keybind>
    <keybind key="A-F4">
      <action name="Close"/>
    </keybind>
    <keybind key="A-F5">
      <action name="Iconify"/>
    </keybind>
    <keybind key="A-F6">
      <action name="ToggleMaximize"/>
    </keybind>

Check if Xfce shortcuts are installed. They would override Openbox ~/.config/openbox/rc.xml
For LXQt the shortcuts are defined in ~/.config/lxqt/globalkeyshortcuts.conf

you can also set other stuff in your  ~/.config/openbox/rx.xml file.
i used it to set my internet browser to start always maximized. this is really handy. i also set it to always start without any window borders...

at the moment i am using kwin instead of openbox as window manager, but i liked openbox a lot. maybe i will return to it, if kwin has too many bugs...

Hello and sorry for answering late
I fixed it by changing the ~/.config/openbox/rc.xml.

It took some time for me to understand what to do but now it's working
