2016 - What Browser Do You use?
« on: 21. April 2016, 16:10:01 »
Thought to see what Manjaro users are using. Default Firefox? or Other.
Include what DE or WM you are using.

Good info place here why your choice is a better fit for you and your needs.
No Bashing please just reasons why your choice is superior for your needs.

Is Firefox the Default for All the Manjaro spins? Stayed with just out of habit as still works for you?

Any feedback positive or negative critiques or insights into other browsers you use will be helpful to others deciding for change or Tryout.
Be sure to share your experiences with others not listed?

Thanks  ^-^

None of the above. I stand and stare at the night sky wondering, "Why me, oh Lord? Why me?"

Firefox and Opera on Xfce.

Firefox because it's widely supported on websites and Opera for the reason that it can handle a lot of open tabs while remaining fast. For Opera I did have to install an extra codec-package in order to be able to view videos online, but that's okay.

On my production machine i use Vivaldi. Also Firefox for certain government webs with security certificates. In my little Samsung N150P i use Brave and Palemoon. That's because Firefox and Vivaldi freezes my laptop with the memory usage in certain newspaper webs and i have only 1Gb ram.
I like Vivaldi the most.

I am going to wait until Vivaldi has one or two more releases, its still very rough around the edges

Both Liri and Qupzilla are reported as out of date by gmail when i sign in or i might use them.  Qupzilla still has a chance of being used as i can add startpage.com as the search engine at least but as it stand I'm using opera for google and facebook services only and firefox for all other web browsing and suchnesses on OpenBox OpenRC (xfce was stripped out after the install)

In such cases browser developers recommend to contact the website administrators and ask them to enable support for the new browser.

Firefox performs well for me, but it's a little irksome that its appearance does not integrate natively with KDE; needing manual styling to get it to look good. I have my eye on Qupzilla, but need to be convinced of its security and privacy abilities.

Chromium because of netflix. Also I like chromiums omnibar and minimalish interface. Uses a lot of ram but is still one of the fastest browsers and renders pretty much any page right.

Try that during daytime and you might get the answer.  ;) If you want it of course... Nightly builds?
