How install without this error ?
« on: 15. April 2016, 02:51:46 »
Hi there , thank you for any help can gave me . the thing is , when i try to install someone packages , can't be installed if the "icons" exists .

I have 2 distros installed on my pc ( Debian & Manjaro ) .

This are my partitions :

Because i ever share my icons and themes for all distro i installed , on my older hardisk of 250GB i have 20 distros GNU/Linux and GNU/FreeBSD in total . because of that i share themes , icons , and opt software .

i try to install , some packages

The installed has failed , because the "icons" already exist.

Really this not have much sense for me , why not simply , replace icons , or if already exist , simply ignore it and continue with installation ?

If you want pacman to just overwrite the existing files, you can use --force

Code: [Select]
sudo pacman -S --force virtualbox

I know that , but how i can modify the "pamac-manager" , for always use "--force" and "--noconfirm"

Because the mayor part of time , i search in "pamac-manager" , and select 20 packages or more , but none is installed because 1 packages detect the icons already exist.

You asked exactly that question in August, 2015. What were the answers you received then?

If pamac-manager is a binary file (which is likely) you cannot modify it, you need to modify the source code and compile it yourself. Take a look at /bin
I can recommend pacli instead. This one you can modify and add its menu entries to your liking.

So the software authors said it's a bad idea. What do they know, eh? Why take their advice, right? I'm sure you know better so you could just take the pamac source and add it yourself.

He meant answers, not authors, in referencing his previous question in these forums. The answers, all by knowledgeable forum members, overwhelmingly said, "What, you like pain? Do not do this or you will bork your system!"

Maybe some folks have a mis-rememberin' problem?
