We are happy to announce our fifteenth update of Manjaro 15.12 (Capella)!

With this we updated some of our kernels, jdk7, haskell, network manager, wine
nvidia driver to 361.42, fixed some issues in LibreOffice and renewed some
OpenRC packages. MHWD got also some few updates.

Archlinux upstream fixes are now from: Tue Apr 5 06:11:40 CEST 2016.

It is always good to check for updated packages, even we don't notify you
about them. As usual people using our testing branch will help us to get snaps
over to our stable branch almost smoothly. For notifications on daily bases
please take a look at our mailing list:

https://lists.manjaro.org/pipermail/manjaro-packages/

Kind regards,
Philip Müller and the Manjaro Development Team

Is the nvidia 361 tested enough?

I think I'm gonna wait abit to update it, just to see other responses to it. :)

Hi, I had to reinstall the video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-bumblebee graphic driver, remove compiz, and  to get back to xfwm4 to get my xfce desktop back.

All fine except the 8192cu driver for a USB dongle.

To clarify the situation: the standard rtl8192cu driver is bugged (slow, change the MAC address at every reboot, etc...) so I replaced it with the 8192cu-dkms from AUR. Its prefect and no problem till the last update when, simply, the system is no longer able to see it (it work, BAD, with the standard rtl8192cu driver so, its not broken and it was working perfectly just before the upgrade).

Now, I tried to remove the driver, to reinstall it, to activate it with dkms
Code: (html5) [Select]
sudo dkms install -m 8192cu -v v4.0.2_9000 -k 4.5.0-2-MANJARO
apparently all is fine
Code: (html5) [Select]
Creating symlink /var/lib/dkms/8192cu/v4.0.2_9000/source ->
                 /usr/src/8192cu-v4.0.2_9000

DKMS: add completed.

but it doesn't work.

I tried also to downgrade the networkmanager-openrc, but nothing change.

The lsusb command see the usb dongles, are 2: one working (the one I'm using to connect) and the Realtek too (the not working).

Code: (html5) [Select]

Bus 002 Device 003: ID 0bda:8191 Realtek Semiconductor Corp.

Somebody have any ideas about what I can to to reactivate the 8192cu dongle? Please, don't tell me to use the standard driver: are unusable :)

Thanks'

Just to add another info. the dkms status generate this message:

Code: (html5) [Select]
sudo dkms status
[sudo] password for francesco:
8192cu, v4.0.2_9000, 4.5.0-2-MANJARO, x86_64: installedError! Could not locate dkms.conf file.
File:  does not exist.

its really strange cause the dkms.conf file exist and the dkms command is executed correctly.  ???

Thanks' for the help

Hi,

I had problem that I had set my screen resolution to 1920x1200, but sometimes when I restarted my computer, resolution was reset to 1024x768. I experienced this problem before - see https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=29821.msg248013#msg248013. That time it only occurred from time to time, but after this update it happened on every reboot. Maybe new nVidia drivers or xorg-xinit update.

I did some poking around and noticed several X config files on my system:
/etc/X11/xorg.conf
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-monitor.conf
/etc/X11/mhwd.d/nvidia.conf

So I deleted all of them, rebooted, then returned the one I made myself (/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-monitor.conf) and after couple of restarts everything looks fine.

EDIT: Well it looks like I was quick to draw judgement. My config works fine, however only in login screen. As soon as I log in, it looks like some application will re-detect all screens, make my HDMI TV primary screen an my monitor secondary with resolution 1024x768. This log portion seems related:

Do you have any idea what could cause this re-detection?

EDIT2: I have found this issue discussed at http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/150513/how-do-i-stop-kde-from-changing-my-screen-resolution and https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=346961. So I did 3 things:
1. Placed correct config at /etc/X11/mhwd.d/nvidia.conf and symlinked to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/90-mhwd.conf
2. Removed all configs from ~/.local/share/kscreen/
3. Disabled KScreen 2 service

So far 5 reboots and everything looks fine. Hope it stays this way.
