Want numlock on and start conky scripts at login
« on: 04. April 2016, 22:22:13 »
Hi,

When I login in deepin, I can't obtain numlock on.

Then I can't remove the computer and trash icon in desktop (tried with dconf without success)

And I want my conky scripts starts in login. And I can't make it with the .config/autostart directory

Do you have some solutions about this ?

install 'numlockx" and add command "numlockx on" to startup.

Don't describe with crayons, show us the exact dconf key, exact contents of your .config/autostart/<conky's autostart file> so that novices can help you.

For numlock: That's shitty, why deepin have an option to make it automaticaly and you have to use numlockx in start by yourself.... If I need to do it, I go to openbox.
For conky that's a script calls another script: http://pastebin.com/LU8zsKcK
For Trash and Computer 2 command lines:

dconf write '/com/deepin/dde/desktop/show-trash-icon' false
dconf write '/com/deepin/dde/desktop/show-computer-icon' false

i won't guess what's in "~/.conky/ConkyBar/conky_start.sh" , do tell if your script runs fine when you exec it manually. Use
Code: [Select]
sh /home/<user>/.conky/ConkyBar/conky_start.sh If it does work, create a *.desktop file in .config/autostart , add usual entries. And use "Exec = sh /path/to/your/script.sh". Being a Guru yourself, i assume you've chmod-ed your script a nice +x.
As for desktop icons, they belong to nautilus. look into org>gnome>desktop>background instead.

On the contrary i've never used deepin in my life, yet i can guess what the solution is. That's called "standard compliance".

1. Desktop shortcut method failed, Already did it
2. Great you're the big boss but you fail. Already did it, look at this screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/TA0bXII.png

Your are kidding about my level or judgement but your "solutions" FAILS.

Edit: And I didn't forgot about the execution authorize (chmod +x ....). I'm not a moron. And I'm putting down my level if there is a problem

I also don't like that they criticize you for having Guru in your skill field. But you are a bit too harsh in your criticizm of a DE which is still under development. Which might explain their remarks which are meant with humour, I would guess, as well as your remark. ;)

Now my skill is novice, no more probs now I think

Edit: If I can't solve it, I will go to MATE (more stable I think)

badbodh tried to help, but he is a bit funny guy, but actually friendly, so don't be angry at him.
MATE as ISO might be a bit outdated, but you can install it as a parallell session with pacman, or you might want to try Cinnamon.
As for Deepin, when there will be fixes Manjaro will be among the first to get them, right after Arch.

Its true badbodh....  will selflessly deep cleanse your apartment..  when you pop out to the grocery store...  but they will steal all your chocolate biscuits.

I wouldnt worry, some hardware manufacturers have differering key placing..  and to be honest auditting keymappings is maybe one of those setup rituals that none of us get around to...  nice thing is,once you understand them, you can position them as you which - not one of us is POSIX default ;)

Migrated in Mate successfully.

- Conky started great with my script :)
- Mate with dconf-editor didn't pissed me off for removing icons
- Less Ram impact
- Compiz in MATE runs very fast and stable (A miracle for compiz)
- Numlock directly at login
