I think the transition to 3.20 will be interesting. Parts of it have started to creep into 3.18 on a clean install, and I notice RAM usage from both free -m and ps_mem is also creeping a bit higher. 3.20 was in Arch's gnome-unstable for a week or so, then to the Testing repo just yesterday. I expect it to hit Stable (Arch) in maybe a week. And, woo-woo, they're bringing back permanent delete and easier linking (once again) in Nautilus! ;)

Regards.

It was just crazy how they messed with Nautilus, and now they have to backtrack.

Exactly! And the (main) GNOME developer griped his head off about it, IIRC from reading the thread. But some of them are back now. Anyway, screenshot from vanilla GNOME 3.20 (currently in Arch Testing) installed this morning. A little glitchy (there's a reason it is in Testing), slightly better than 3.18, prettier wallpaper--a typical GNOME stepping stone.

Meanwhile, back to laying with KDE... ;)

That's a nice wallpaper - do you have a link to it?

Very interesting, you're saying the main Gnome developer did NOT want these changes to nautilus? So there are people within Gnome pushing for the changes against him?

Meanwhile, I'm happy with Gnome 3.18 on Korora - albeit with Nemo and pcmanfm as my file managers and the addition of a few gnome extensions - so I'll just wait for Gnome 3.20 to arrive in its own time after Fedora 24 is released.

1) the wallpaper came with 3.20. I think softpedia.com may have a recent  tar.gz of all the GNOME 3.20 wallpapers, IIRC.
B) I'm saying I read--with my own eyes--a conversation between the Nautilus developer and several users begging him to reinstall or at least make usable the ability for the user to more easily permanently delete and make soft links. They used to be. I believe the thread was in the Arch Forums, but I may be wrong. The developer is the GNOME.org Nautilus developer (Mr. Whathisname?). One of the big-wigs in the outfit.

Did you know that you are supposed to have the ability already to do those two things in 3.18? It is supposed to be some weird WhateverKey + Shift + Hold + Drag combination that I have never been able to achieve. I'm not entirely sure it is even physically possible to complete. IMHO, it is a minimalism that stupidly goes overboard sometimes. Making the user suffer. KDE, on the other hand, has the most beautiful Solitaire game... ;)

Cool stuff!

Maybe you could tell us whether dual-monitor support has improved in 3.20?

I think it was c00ter who told me that 3.20 would bring improved multi monitor support.

So what is the problem with duel monitor support.
With nvidia with the correct settings duel monitors are just plug and play for me. please enlighten me as I refuse to use anything but nvidia for the last 10 years

nvidia non-free here, too.
Problem is (or was) full-screen unredirection. There was a separate thread for that IIRC: https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=29007
I think it has been fixed, at least partially.

GNOME 3.20 was just moved from Testing into Stable in Arch repositories...

That is all.

Well , more extension is outdate , theme also ..  :-\

Extensions you may be able to 'tweak' into thinking it is still 3.18. but 3.18 GTK3 themes are nearly all incompatible in 3.20 (so far). Per the Arch Forum, users of 3.20 have been advised to use ugly Adwaita until GTK3 themes can be updated by their developers/packagers.

In KDE, the sole GTK3 app I am running is GNOME Disk Utility, and it has reverted to Adwaita (the fallback) from Breeze-gtk. I'm going to see if breeze-gtk-git is any better.

There is other breakage reported as well. I would say "this is typical of GNOME" but it is as well to say "this is typical of Linux" since it happens when all of the major DEs change versions. Except maybe Xfce.

There are a number of Arch Forums threads regarding GNOME/GTK3 updates. This one concerns mostly GTK updates and theming, since it impacts more than GNOME DE users (MATE, Cinnamon, Budgie, Xfce): https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=210815
