Dear Manjaro Devs,

I am a few years user of Linux Mint and love the speed of Arch based Linux distros, So after hopping one by one (Antergos failed to start) so I tried Manjaro

I just recently got a HP ENVY 15t-ae100 and here are the details of it.
i7 6500u, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD, 15 inch FHD touch, GTX 950m

Code: [Select]

And so I started off with Manjaro stable release of 15.12 KDE and it didn't start off well. Never booted to the main screen at all (plymouth boot screen thingy gets stuck in there forever) whether be it in nouveau or nomodeset whatever I read from the wiki i tried it but nothing worked to get it to boot.
Finally just before I gave up I saw on distrowatch of the preview 16.06. So not giving up on that for the last time I booted up and it came out very well! It is amazing and works out of the box flawlessly!
I am very amazed at the speed and how everything works - GTX 950m card, bluetooth mouse (HP X4000), Wifi Broadcom, touchscreen, Audio everything worked out of the box.

Some quirks here and there, touchpad doesn't have the palm typing setting and everytime I type and my palm touches the pad it does some magic and everything goes off the screen (deletes)
Nouveau or Nvidia non free driver installed but no idea how to get it to work - nvidia-xconfig doesn't help also. Writes a new xorg.conf but boots in some odd resolution (screen is full hd) and I don't know how to get it done correctly.
So finally i removed everything and had Intel as the base driver and I don't want to go back to Nvidia.

One weird thing kept happening during video playback
http://tinypic.com/r/24wvkhd/9
It is not only on VLC but all of the other players. Chromium doesn't do like that while playing Youtube videos.
I couldn't take screenshots cause it only takes a blank pic :(

Regarding grub, (it is not a big matter but mentioning it here)
It has installed grub in the separate partition I have given but it is not showing up when I boot the pc. So I have to select boot device and manually open the uefi file from bios.
Should I run grub install again? How do I do it the correct way?

Any other info I need to provide for helping out?

Thanks a lot!
Tim
