After a reboot i get
- the Manjaro logo and the five points, wandering
- the message "starting version 229"

then the screen
- is set to 460x600 (or something), much smaller resolution than is use (19200x1200)
- is just black, no more activities... neither on HDD, SSD or network...
Tried it three times, all the same.

Rebooting and choosing Kernel 4.4.5-1 all goes normal...

Can please somebody look into this?
If more information is needed just shoot.

Thanks in advance

What exactly is the problem?
Host os (manjaro 15.12) doesn't load with 4.5 kernel, or virtualbox doesn't work with 4.5, or host os and virtualbox works but guest os (manjaro 16.06) doesn't load with 4.5 kernel?
If you mean the third (host manjaro and virtualbox running fine but guest manjaro doesn't load in virtualbox with 4.5 kernel) I have the same problem too.
As Jonathon said probably Arch are still fixing the DKMS setup:

My problem was manjaro as guest os who was not booting (ssdm) with the latest 4.5 kernel update or virtual box guest modules (both have been updated).  But is still booting flowlessly with kernel 4.4. My host OS is windows 7.
And as Johnaton said.  Is certainly a bug in the kernel drivers or DKMS and will be solved in a future update
There is still problems with virtual box and kernel 4.5, Maye for both senario as host or guest

Please make more clear if a problem is with the main or virtual system .
It's not at all the same thing.
The important is to work properly the main system.
And the main (host) manjaro system running fine with kernel 4.5 (and the virtualbox as well).

Sorry for the confusion:
The problem ist the guest system with Kernel 4.5 and VirtualBox 5.0.16 - and it seems only in THIS coop!

Before update:
- Kernel 4.5-rc7 + VB 5.0.14 ---> works
- Kernel 4.4.x + VB 5.0.14 ---> works

What exatly the problem is... i do not  know!
I just can describe whats happening... see first post.
@scachemaille may help you out with this, no error in the pacman.log so for me it looks fine.   :-\

There appear to be changes happening with kernel 4.5 that VirtualBox currently doesn't like. I've had the same thing on-and-off with the 4.5rc releases, looks like the issue is back. I suspect this will be fixed with VirtualBox 5.0.18.

O.k then, as I said I have the same problem with you.
So we have to wait the next virtualbox version.  :)

The problem is only with a kernel 4.5 as guest..
Or they're is also problems to run virtualbox guest on a kernel 4.5 host?

It's only with the guest running kernel 4.5. The host system doesn't (seem to) matter.

Nope, not anymore!
Had some with early RC but they seemed fixed (there was a discussion about this some weeks ago).

Had somebody tried to go back to the older VB release 5.0.14, if this works with Kernel 4.5?

I did not as the guest modules was updated I also updated virtualbox itself on my windows host. To be sure to don't mix virtualbox version and the guest modules version.
So I don't know what would be the effects to downgrade the guest modules when running with virtualbox 5.0.16
