pamac-tray and proxy settings
« on: 17. March 2016, 10:15:12 »
Hi,

I'm new to Manjaro (not to Linux), and I face a problem : I can't make "pamac-tray" work behind my proxy (which is "cntlm"). I get a message like "unanticipated error" (I'm not sure of it, it's in french on my system).

My proxy settings are configured thru environment variables, and my "/etc/sudoers" seems well configured.

Code: [Select]
[damien@B018036-UX ~]$ env | grep -i proxy
NO_PROXY=localhost, 127.0.0.0/8, ::1
http_proxy=http://localhost:3128/
FTP_PROXY=http://localhost:3128/
ftp_proxy=http://localhost:3128/
https_proxy=http://localhost:3128/
no_proxy=localhost, 127.0.0.0/8, ::1
HTTP_PROXY=http://localhost:3128/

Code: [Select]
[damien@B018036-UX ~]$ sudo env | grep -i proxy
NO_PROXY=localhost, 127.0.0.0/8, ::1
http_proxy=http://localhost:3128/
FTP_PROXY=http://localhost:3128/
ftp_proxy=http://localhost:3128/
https_proxy=http://localhost:3128/
no_proxy=localhost, 127.0.0.0/8, ::1
HTTP_PROXY=http://localhost:3128/

Is there something else to do ?

Well, the "unantipated error" was due to a remaining "/var/lib/pacman/db.lck" file.
But still, I get timeout every time I try tu update anything.

by "well configured" if you mean
Code: [Select]
Defaults env_keep += "blah blah" then proxy should work. Unless the proxy itself isn't working.
You can't feel the love till it hurts a little. Go rolling, go bleeding-edge !

That's exactly what I mean :
Code: [Select]
Defaults env_keep += "ftp_proxy http_proxy https_proxy no_proxy FTP_PROXY HTTP_PROXY HTTPS_PROXY NO_PROXY"
I'll check my proxy settings then.

Thx for making me check my proxy config.
The problem was the variable "no_proxy".
