Uninstalling a Package in root/pft
« on: 13. March 2016, 19:46:12 »
I installed PDFStudio 10 per instruction given on their website. In this case sudo PDFStudio_v10_3_0_linux64.sh.
FYI: (PDFStudio 8, and 9 is available in AUR, but not the version 10).

I installed it in the root/opt folder, because that's where the Octopi would have installed it. Now I'm trying to uninstall it, via clicking on the uninstall folder, but it tells me “Access denied to opt/pdfstudio10/uninstall”. I don't see any option to login as root, nor it asks for a password.  so how can I get in as root?

Have you tried again with terminal and sudo?
Code: [Select]
sudo /opt/pdfstudio10/uninstall/uninstall.sh

It tells me "sudo: /opt/pdfstudio10/uninstall/uninstall.sh: command not found". I see the uninstall folder, and it would let me click on it if I had the root password, but it doesn't even ask for a password. Any other suggestion?

I got it. I did the following:
cd /opt
sudo pdfstudio10/uninstall, and that did it.
Thanks blade for the tip.  :)
