Octopi shows 0 votes for all AUR packages
« on: 12. March 2016, 07:55:33 »
I'm running Manjaro KDE minimal made from net install. After last pacman update Octopi shows 0 votes for all AUR packages. All AUR functions work without issues except for votes. Tried to wipe configs, reinstall, freshest yaourt from AUR with no avail. Google of mine knows nothing about it. Any suggestions?

Hi, this is an error introduced by the new yaourt version.

Good news is it's fixed in Octopi's upstream code, which will be available in version 0.8.1.

Easy for you to say. I completely lost my sleep since this issue arised. I lost faith in free software, linux and pc as a platform. I decided to ditch Manjaro and  seek working aur votes in Linux Mint, Android and Windows 10. But I've remembered that there's no aur before I started a flaming rant "I leave Manjaro" topic. And still want to have one! I'll be like cool and important there and mock some devs.

Ah so! Well if Rule #1 doesn't work, I would suggest you apply Number 64. Failing that, Number 42 is guaranteed to work.

Oh, and welcome to Manjaro, where smartassery comes cheap!  O:-)
