Okay, here some though from me about Manjaro Xfce 16.06 pre1 installing in a VM:

VM:
- 1 SSD (64 GB) for /boot, / and Swap and 1 HDD (512 GB) for /home

Boot:
- booting normal Kernel without unfree packages

After some minutes (or seconds?) i get alerted about 1 update.

Installation:
- Bar with NTP on/off should be colored, after some back and forth i see the difference but a nice green would make it more intuitive
- manuell partitioning: searching for swap... (also a bit unintuitive)
- - would also be nice for Manjaro beginners to lighten up the best choice if mount point and size is choosen (different on SSD and HDD)  - just a wish!   :-X
- as password for user is "P@ssw0rd" still accepted (reasonable password), even it is a bit short an a slight modification of a dictionary word..

Installation itself works smooth and complete in German (y)

Reboot:
- without problems

Appearance:
- nice, intuitive Icons, a bit colored  (very good imho)
 - Adobe Flash Player is alert-red   ;D
- all other panel icons "pleasent reserved"
- background is not my color... a bit to dark or scattered or ...

Adjustment
- very nice, only the icons for "finetuning of windows" and "GTK+-Theme..." (purple, really?) could be less colorful
- Installation of Kernel 4.5-rc6 needed a long time to download but was finished successfull
- updated worked flawless

After rebooting to use Kernel 4.5 i got 6 more language updates --> flawless  (y)
A bit strange:
Starting LibreOffice all is in english (menu, side bar, ...) - so the german language file is not installed after this...   :-\

Then changed the mirrors to testing...
56 packages to update ---> flawless

Pamac:
The bars in the options are also grey/white - a bit of green would be helpful
I installed some games from community and AUR - all good.

Thanks for this great pre-release!
Frank

P.S.: "Widelands" seems to be a maintainer-less package...   :(
Dell X58 = Xeon W3680 @ 3.33 GHz + M391B5673FH0-CH9 - 12 GB @ 1.33 GHz
   - Asus R7260X-DC2OC-1GD5 DirectCU II OC
   - **/** = SP900 64 GB SSD + **/home** = ST3000VX000-1ES1 + **/pub** = 2x WD2003FYPS-2
   - Pioneer BDR-208D
   - Samsung S32D850T

Hi, I'm testing the new manajro release and I found two problems, that I also found in previous versions.

The first, the brightness keys doesn't work. I solved this by adding acpi_osi= at the line "GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT" at the file /etc/default/grub and then running update-grub.

The second problem that I also found in previous versions, is when I close the laptop lid, the laptop is not suspended ( I have set the suspend option in the "Power Settings"). I couldn't solve this, any help is welcome. ;D

Thanks!!! The preview looks pretty well.

I resolve  suspend problem by installing the 3.10 Kernel version and editing the file "/etc/systemd/logind.conf" with HandleLidSwitch=suspend. But is not a good solution  :'(

In other distro ( Antergos ) I can suspend the laptop normally ( but I like more Manjaro and I'm trying to find a solution ).

Love this preview release.

I have found one issue that I can replicate on three different machines:
When locking the screen for more than a few minutes, the display will not come back up with the login prompt. The computers continue to run (Num Lock, Caps Lock keys still work normally), the display will just not come back up.
The three machines I have tried are all 64-bit, one is a laptop (Dell Inspiron 3520), two are desktops (Compaq Presario SR5152NX and White Box)

Thanks for your hard work!

As far as I could tell, -dev versions are based on 'testing' or 'unstable' and this one is based on 'unstable'. For reference, check /etc/pacman-mirrors.conf :).

Downloaded 'Daniella' few days after it was released and changed repositories to 'testing' as I am not so daring to run 'unstable'. I always enjoyed the black-green rogue-ish theming combo (I'm a black-green deck Magic: The Gathering player!) and 'Daniella' really nails it. It has the right amount of gee-whiz, still very light on resources. Good selection of wallpapers as well.

So far I had zero problems and I'm constantly awe-struck how solid Arch-based distributions are :). Big thumbs up from me!
GNU/Linux will prevail! :)

I use iris-light theme and ultra flat icons. Great!

If you will change icons theme, please leave "power off, suspend, logout, restart" buttons.
They look amazing in current circle theme.

Yes, the changes are just to the theme, and installation program. The ISO itself is based on the stable repo's.

Unfortunately the bluetooth update today has broken something, at least on testing. When trying to connect a headset I get an initial connection then the whole stack goes tits-up.
