Manjaro Deepin 16.03 (stable)
« on: 02. March 2016, 14:15:00 »
The new stable release of Manjaro Deepin is now online  ^-^ !
signed with gpg key ID 663CA268 "Bernhard Landauer <oberon@manjaro.org>"
( a minimal-edition is also available - even though it is not such an awful lot smaller I'm afraid ;) :P )

Putting together a Deepin edition is still sometimes pioneering work and includes a lot of digging, investigating, trying, failing, compiling...
I even learned how to do a git bisect in the course of this process recently >:D :P

  ;D ;D ;D

At the same time all this is really GREAT fun and very exciting and I am extremely happy with the result sofar.

Of course there is still space for improvement and polishing with this project and often ironing out a bug on one end produces another one in a different place... ;)
But Linuxdeepin is really on a very good way I think and cooperating with these guys is great fun and extremely rewarding.
Thank you @fasheng, @felixonmars, @hualet and @sbwtw for your impressive work, your perseverance, friendliness and patience!
And thank you, too, FORUM for all your support and feedback and your wonderful inspiring energy!

Enjoy this edition and have fun with it! 8)

Congrats on the release!

However... i would have mentioned in the announcement that there's a memory leak caused by dde-preload and dde-session daemon as Known Issues and that there will be a fix for it in the near future. :)

Let me quote the command how to check the signature
Code: [Select]
gpg --output <file_name>.iso --decrypt <file_name>.sigIf you don't have imported oberons public key yet, you can do it by
Code: [Select]
gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 663CA268
gpg --export --armor 663CA268
Then run the first command again.
MSI Wind Nettop, Intel Atom 230 1.6GHz (64bit), 2GB RAM
DEs: NET-minimal + (LXDE / Fluxbox / JWM); LXQt OpenRC

Thank you @eugen-b !
Also the GUI gpa from the community repo is very convenient and self-explanatory :)

@M.aD , yes, it's leaking :o :( I know... ;)
It's stuff like that I mean in the blog-post by saying it is "still not bugfree" ::)
I just tried to say it a little more nicely 8) ::) ;D

I just moved to Deepin DE today after using Xfce for quite some time.  I just wanted something that looked a bit more modern and Deepin certainly does that in spades.  I'm sure it'll take me a bit of time to get use to running it and wonder if there's any easy way to upgrade to 16.03 from the current 15.12 that I have installed now?  I'd like the most up to date version that I can get since it should have more bug fixes, ect. then earlier versions. Thanks in advance.
