Right! So the result says:
27 like it
23 think it's ok but we need a change
10 don't like it the way it is

Which means 27 support the current look to stay the same and the majority (33) prefer a change.
Looks like the development with looking for a new theming and some new wallpapers is going in a reasonable direction... :)

I definitely like it. Its kept me from giving up on the screen tearing issues and just heading back to KDE.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Besides, changing wallpaper & themes is easy - even for a complete novice like myself.

The fact that we have a rock solid, rolling OS is the main thing.

More power to you all.

I think it looks fine as it is, the only crit I can give is that more icon themes and XFWM themes are included, so that it's even easier to change the look of your XFCE desktop.

A couple of suggestions:

appearance->style:

Atolm
Axiom & Axiom dark
Neuver
Numix (archblue, manjaro, reborn)
vertex dark and light

window manager->style:

zukitre-yosemite
zukwito L
zukwito old
vertex dark/light
Atolm
Axiom/Axiom dark
Blue -dots
greybird-oxygen
Numix
Simply basic

appearance > style = Vertex-Dark
appearance > icons = maia
window manager > style = Vertex-Maia-Square
mouse & touchpad > theme = Simple-and-Soft
remove whisker menu and use xfce Applications Menu

perfect, except for the arch blue hover, which you can make green pretty easily  8)

Agreed, include more themes & icon sets to make it easier for people to tweak. Wallpaper is easy, so that's probably fine the way it is.

Manjaro is EASY Arch. Arch is all about creating your own system from what is available in the Arch repos (& beyond if you have the skills).

Great theme sites exist for those that aren't happy with what comes standard in Manjaro.

If you don't like something then change it.

That is the Arch way, & Manjaro works exactly the same way, you can do absolutely anything that you can do with Arch with Manjaro (in many cases so much easier & in some cases you can't even do it in Arch - the mhwd tricks come to mind & multiple kernels).

It always amuses me when people post in the forum that this or that official or community release doesn't have enough applications, or has too many, or why doesn't it have this, or that utility/tool included. As everyone knows that these apps/tools are much better than whatever was chosen by whichever Manjaro team... <!doh>

All you have to do is add/remove applications/themes/fonts to suit your own taste. This is (to me at least - am I in a minority?) the pure joy of using Arch/Manjaro, as these distros make it SO easy to do these things with the glorious pacman & associated tools.

If you don't know how to adjust something, search the Manjaro forum/wiki, then go to the goldmine of info' available in the ArchWiki, then their forum, then use Stargpage.com & search the web. There is rarely a circumstance where if you look you can't find the info' that you need to do what you want to do.

If you don't like something about your Manjaro, do the research, find what you would like to use (even if you get it wrong, try it out, if it isn't what you like then remove it from your system & try something else). Eventually, if you stick with it you'll gradually sculpt your system into being the only one of its type on the planet (& that's saying something).

You'll have things organised & laid out just how you like it, your colours will be the ones that you like, your GUI will be customised to suit your desires & nobody else's, you'll have the best app's that you can find to do what you want to do & be able to try others & replace what you are using when you find better.

No one on the planet has a system like mine. I've been able to craft it & maintain it for >8 years since I first started using Arch. I expect that few would want a system like mine. Arch/Manjaro makes it so easy for me to create my own system, upgrade it daily (when possible) & carry on.

I'm not complaining. :D I'm incredibly grateful to the Manjaro team, & all of those people involved in the creation & maintenance of Arch & of course everyone upstream from them. I'm grateful everyday I'm using my brilliant GNU/Linux Arch/Manjaro system. Thank you to all of you.

I would say that there is no good linux theme in general. What make theme great is good looks with easy to separate elements - buttons, check boxes, window borders and so on. For this matter, windows 7 is THE king - great looking elements with great animations - its like love from the first sight. Windows 8 made a step back going to the lands of flat design, and windows 10 made another step back going to the time of "black and white" tv - i'm not even talking about love from the first sight, but you cant even understand what gender it is ? is it even human ? what the heck ? :) Now, this is where 99.99999999999% linux themes are - a little step back from windows 10 - very flat themes with bad chosen colors and that step back is worse animations. The only theme that is not kiing my eyes is actually ubuntus unity theme "ambiance dark", you could put that between windows 8 and windows 10. I know, soon comments will start flaming that this is not true, but it is. If you are ugly and you dont like looks in general and you prefer to sit in terminal, its another thing to discuss, but what i said about GUI is like physics law, it just exists.

I just dont understand the reasons behind this whole flat design thing - it looks ugly, it doesnt have anything to do with speed, and it is very hard on eyes because it is very hard to see separate elements quickly, you have to hire sherlock holmes just to find some checkbox or button. i know it is easy to develop such themes or engine for such simple themes, but is it what developing field became these days - home for noobs and pussies ?

And no need for useless comments like "dont use it if you dont like" - just wanted to put some scientific background on the whole theming thing, and to show that there is no need to separate xfce from the whole ugliness club.

In all honesty, I don't see how anything can be more beautiful than a KDE plasma 5 desktop :D
