I am surprised how much the author hates the design of our beloved Xfce :o ;)
I think it will be interesting to find out what people here think ... added a poll. Let's see your votes!

The use of the Unix philosophy just for UNIX was a great waste. Fortunately, Linux came along.   -- a Linux user 2005

I really dislike flat icons... They can look beautiful on screenshots but when actually do something in the file manager or whatever I have very strong desire to change the flat icons with "normal" ones. So I use the icons from MATE.
The current dark theme and the overall  design is great but with non flat icons will be perfect, but that's just in my opinion.

The current dark theme and the overall  design is great

Here's BlackMATE (widget) with AwOkenWhite (icon theme); easy to see and functions fine.

@schpankme
Exactly what I write in my first post, they look good in your screenshot but when tried them... They are all looking the same and it's hard distinguish them... That's frustrating.
I just can't get used to them, but I don't actually try cause there is already something that suits my needs.
Anyway, thanks for the response.

quack
quack ... get out ... quack quack ... get out ... quack quack ... get
out of town ;)

there not much to fault Manjaro Xfce ... its the best Xfce
implimentation of Xfce ive come across with regards to looks and
ergonomics ... under the hood theres niggles with transitions between
GTK2 and GTK3 and Perl bindings, but thats not really anything Manjaro
can do about ... i keep coming back and using it because its so
stable, and i can 'grow' ideas off it.
I think thats the problem ... Xfce has always been the 'potatoes' DE ...
its never had the 'cool' status that fanboys and girls like to croon
poetically about ... but as far as a DE that finds 'a middle way' for
all the possible feet a shoe needs to fit,it does quite well.
Its odd no-one has tried a KXfce (though KDE5 seems to offering that
choice) ... Razor/LXQt with PCMan's support covered LX bases ...
As far as entry level DE .. Xfce covers it for me (dont know why some
commentators call it 'geeky' o_0) ... for me Gnome and KDE tries too
hard to mimic the unnecessary bling of Windows and Mac.
Yeah, ideas its nice to throw ideas around, but i like what the visions of
developers produce, rather than them following orders of my ill-thought
opinions ... i like walking around with a bucket on my foot, but i
wouldnt advise anyone to do the same ;)

sssshhhh, I tell you s.th.! Ugly is the new beautiful! >:D
I voted third option, but think it should look even less like Xubuntu or Mint. Like dark inner space and light borders.

I hate xfce's uberincredile long release cycles ( might be due to only a handfull of part time devs working on it) as well as their simplicity uber alles attitude plus sticking to outdated technologies ( see xfwm4 which still does not  support openGL vsync, a file manager with no default file search etc pp), not my DE at all.

I love Xfce for many reasons but this is not the point of the poll.
The point is if you like the current design of Manjaro Xfce (with whisker menu, menda theme, menda icon, e.t.c)
