Just an info:
Experiencing a minor bug with font Cantarell
Ü and ü seem to have zero width and the following character overlaps
I guess the next update will take care of it...

I think in your case it should be
Code: [Select]
# cryptsetup open --type luks /dev/sda2 rootfor  # cryptsetup open --type luks /dev/<partition name> <device-mapper name>

I typed as you mentioned, but it simply goes to [manjaro@manjaro `]$
What do I do after that?

@ AJSly,
You have come to my resue several times in the past few years, and I'm geratful to your help and everyone else involved. Could you tell me what is the commandd that I need to type. the luks key is set on /dev/sda2 by defualt when you use the installer to encrypt the hard drive during the initial installation. I have successfully been able to change the encryption key by this command:
sudo cryptsetup luksAddKey /dev/sda2
Or, sudo cryptsetup luksRemoveKey /dev/sda2
I can only get to a terminal using the Manjaro 15.12 usb stick.
Could you tell me what do I need to type to delete the luks key. I'm following the installation with no success.

Multiple machines (64 and 32 bit): no KDE, no encryption= no problems.

Hi! New to the forums - took me about 10 or something tries to register here (that captcha is unreal :S).

I use encryption. Before the update I edited the /etc/pacman.conf file and added "linux" after the IgnorePkg (IgnorePkg   = linux). Because I knew if my kernel gets updated to 4.1.18, I'm fucked (had this issue on Antergos - lts kernel update).

As I understand 4.1.17 isn't supported anymore. My question is, what should I do now? is it okay if I remove the kernel from the ignore list of pacman and let it to update itself? is the bug fixed now?

Essentially I don't want to have regular kernel updates - i just want to have a fairly recent kernel that works and is supported for quite a while and just stick with it. i also don't want to have the newest kernel, cause that one broke my wifi. Had an interesting situation on Antergos - couldn't use the 4.4.2. kernel, cause that broke my wifi and couln't use the lts kernel (.18), cause that broke my cryptsetup.

Some background:

Code: [Select]
$ uname -r
4.1.17-1-MANJARO

Code: [Select]
$ lsb_release -a
LSB Version: n/a
Distributor ID: ManjaroLinux
Description: Manjaro Linux
Release: 15.12
Codename: Capella

Code: [Select]
$ cryptsetup --version
cryptsetup 1.7.0

* sidenote, geesus christ dudes - why all the hurdles to just register and post on this forum - first, third and whatever letters of manjaro. why?? :SS

Hello and welcome, heyne001!
The hurdle to register prevent us from spammers.
Good that you took measures before the update!
You need now a newer version of cryptsetup which resolves the issue:
Code: [Select]
sudo pacman -U http://repo.manjaro.org.uk/pool/overlay/cryptsetup-1.7.0-1.1-$(uname -m).pkg.tar.xzThen you should be able to update the kernel.
PS: You can also install kernel 4.4 which isn't affected by the issue.

Everything went great for me.  I made the jump to all SSD for OS drives with built in device enabled encryption, specifically to avoid the performance hit and to avoid any issues created by LUKS.  I tend to use truecrypt containers for data I want to safeguard, but outside of my home folder which is on the primary OS drive I only really have to use this for protecting backup images.
