custom online repo
« on: 19. February 2016, 15:11:50 »
Does anyone know where I can create a custom online repo, preferably for free?
I'd be willing to share some of my custom built packages for Haswell desktop computers, though I strongly doubt there be any interest from the community members to use any of these packages which offer only a very very marginal performance advantage (linux41 with bfs tweaked for maximum throughput i.e. no preempt; firefox; handbrake).

Why don't you try at http://tuxfamily.org/ They are one of my favorites and have great communication with their users.
Open Source Software support and translations. Trainings, Graphical adds, Computer Engineering.
Check my Netrunner/Manjaro repo - containing latest dev versions of few apps, that i'm using daily: http://download.tuxfamily.org/gericom/README.html

SourceForge does also provide some space for free, which can be used for a repository. But I wouldn't do it myself.

I'd either use my own web domain (which I have) or create a homeserver with apache forwarded to the internet.

Thanks guys, I may look into renting a small file server later this year.
Don't think anyone's interested in my packages anyway :)

Why not submit them on AUR that is the proper place for arch based systems thats why its called Arch user repository

Repo for binary packages, not for PKGBUILDs.

What you are asking for is free server space with rsync capabilities? That's gonna be hard to find.
I think SF is the only real option you got for free server space.
