Smooth update!!! Only the same flickering issue solved as above...

Same story here.  All is well after the DRI change.  Thanks!

Worked well so far on two of three Manjaro boxes. Haven't done the third one yet but I am pretty sure it will work

flickering? in my case it's crash and freeze..  with nouveau driver. ;) the only solution was to downgrade qt5-base

Yea it seems that the patch breaks (crashes) nouveau, introduces flickering on intel in plasma 5 and sddm, and fixes some bug with beta nvidia driver.
Anyway it will be revreted in next qt5-base update  8)

Same issue here: plasmashell continuously restarting with nouveau driver, and sometimes leading to system freeze. Resolved by downgrading qt5-base.

I think the patch should be reverted immediately, since it leads to an unusable system...

Yes I agree. The patch seems untested and some arch devs/users are not too happy about it (comment from arch bug report):
"Could you tell me why 97%-incorrected patch was added into release package? Was it tested with Intel gpu for example?"

There is something I don't get. In the release notes for this update, Phil says that

Quote
Archlinux upstream fixes are now from: Tue Jan 12 02:35:08 CET 2016.

Thus, it looks like packages from Arch made into this update after only 1 day from release by Arch. Shouldn't they be tested in the Manjaro testing branch for about 1 week before being moved into stable branch?

Thanks for the clarification and for your great work.

this "patch" was not really a security update. as it was a patch for a possible problems with the beta nvidia drivers who are still in arch testing branch if I'm not wrong.
and it's a risk with rolling release I guess.. ;)
and the downgrade option is useful in this case.
and about security... it seems to be a serious security hole in ffmpeg.

Also here on Intel HD4000 "flickering" fixed as described above.

It is not a flicker in the sense of a sync problem or "tearing", it is that just some parts of the screen seem to be erratically redrawn and flicker.

@scachemaille, you are right, I misread that it was about qt5-base.
