Budgie desktop 10.1 missing polkit auth and nm-applet
« on: 30. December 2015, 23:41:32 »
Budgie desktop 10.1 missing polkit auth (rights elevation) (for example, Time and date settings or Pamac installation) doesn't work. Network manager applet is absent as well. How to get all that stuff working?

There are quite a few new bugs with Budgie since the many Solus/Budgie Project changes from version 8.3 to 10. You can keep track of existing bugs (and submit new ones) at: https://github.com/solus-project/budgie-desktop/issues

At this point in time. Budgie DE is very much a work-in-progress. It will get there. :D

Regards.

Dirty workaround for missing polkit auth is to make polkit-gnome.desktop file:

Code: [Select]
[Desktop Entry]
Name=PolicyKit Authentication Agent
Comment=PolicyKit Authentication Agent
Exec=/usr/lib/polkit-gnome/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=
NoDisplay=true
OnlyShowIn=GNOME;XFCE;Unity;

and put it to /etc/xdg/autostart.
