'budgie-desktop' package is missing 'gnome-session' as dep
« on: 30. December 2015, 17:24:42 »
I installed (on unstable):

Code: [Select]
community/budgie-desktop 10.1-1 [installed]
    Simple GTK3 desktop experience

This brought in a selection of dependencies, but on trying to select the session from LightDM login aborts with the following in .xsession-errors:

Quote
/usr/bin/budgie-desktop: line 2: exec: gnome-session: not found

Installing 'gnome-session' now, will edit in a mo.

Edit:

gnome-desktop'gnome-session' does get it working, though that's added a non-working GNOME session to LightDM. :D

Reference deps from AUR package:

Code: [Select]
depends=('libwnck3' 'gnome-menus' 'gnome-settings-daemon' 'libpeas'
         'mutter>=3.18' 'desktop-file-utils' 'libgee' 'gnome-themes-standard'
         'gtk3>=3.18' 'libpulse' 'upower' 'intltool' 'gnome-session>=3.18'
         'gnome-terminal' 'gnome-control-center' 'nautilus')

[later edit: correct gnome-desktop to gnome-session]

You're going to also find that some permissions aren't handled correctly. For instance, gnome-disk-utility can only be changed as root if started as root. I also notice nautilus-admin from AUR has no effect, and lxsession-gtk3 (which was necessary in 8.3.1) seems to have no impact.

Yep. This is what "in development" means. :P

Meanwhile @oberon etal are kicking butt on Deepin. (I'm using it as sole DE in Arch at the moment.). Budgie will get there soon, I'm sure.

Keep up the good work, Stefano. :D
