Installed Budgie Desktop, but can't start it from lightdm(cinnamon edition).Everytime it put me back to lightdm after one second of black screen. No errors in lightdm.log or Xorg.0.log.

Just small issue: when I did the update I was not able to run anything using optirun, but a simple reboot solved this issue  ;)

This could be because your kernel got updated.
When kernels get updated, loading kernel modules does not work, before the new kernel has been activated (e.g. rebooted).

Same issue here.

I ran into that issue the other day--don't remember if it was installing to MJRO or Arch--but I seem to recall a reinstall of lightdm picked up Budgie...but I could be wrong.

Regards.

Thanks for the info. Tried reinstalling Lightdm but still a no go. Lightdm is picking up the existence of Budgie and even lists it on the log in screen as an available option. But if I select it and then sign in, the screen goes black for a few seconds then returns to the same login screen. The only option that works is xfce.
There must be some setting that also needs to be updated. I'll keep looking :)  Thanks for your help!

@daogiahieu: this is simple. Check your current used mirror at http://repo.manjaro.org/. It might be outdated. The mirror Netzspielplatz (hosted in Germany) however syncs every 5 minutes. Maybe you want to change to that one:

Code: [Select]
sudo pacman-mirrors -gc Germany
More infos about that you can also find here.
thanks, but today morning, i used pacman -Syu again and it worked.
Can't understand why last night i can't update :)), nevermind

I congratulate the Developers Team for the bmenu UI. I find it very cool and useful. And it is very well maked!!! I exhort all of you to try it, expecially who is more experienced with the Terminal Shell. Beyond the DE and graphical tools we usually emloy to interact with the OS, bmenu is a shell tool allowing us to speed many operations with the Manjaro Linux Operating System. It really matches a GNU/Linux based OS.

PS. I only suggest you a diffrente package name as Manjaro GUI → manjarogui or something else. It's more predictable a new user (even if ignoring the shell) would digit "manjaro.." on the konsole and find it.

When I add a new Budgie in pacman from other some ISO, I encountered the problem.
Already Budgie desktop upgrade that has been introduced, it is used to normal.

I have been using budgie-desktop-git from AUR with no problems because I always had that "can't log in " issue with budgie desktop from the manjaro repos.  But since it looked like the AUR git package was now outdated and taken over by another AUR maintainer, I decided to uninstall it and try budgie in manjaro repo.  Still couldn't log in as before, so I had similar problems as some of the posters in this thread.

Went back to the new maintainer's budgie in AUR.  This looks to add 3 additional dependencies not found in manjaro's budgie - gnome-session, gnome-terminal and nautilus.  Not sure why the last 2 need to be dependencies, but this budgie works.

I've tried the operation to upgrade from Budgie 2015.11 ISO.
It is also even if the login operation and is returned to the login screen.
I tried to further try to change the login manager, but they can not be obtained to improve the problem...

Solus project members will have to make any changes or modifications to violently Budgie now.
Please attention to changes in the Budgie in the future.
