Yeah,when you have a weirdo family and weirdo ex-friends and the once in a year hypocritical dishonesty ... for sure i grew to be wary of Christmas ... still the security of backbiting and violence usually resumed by later in the afternoon (bit like weddings
) .. so i kind of knew where i stood again
For one ... THIS IS NOT the norm for many family and friends ... and i wish them all the warm glow of togetherness
For two ... im becoming a better judge of potential friends ... and if i cant work during the period,i go and offer some help of organisations that give a sense of cheer to others in my situation.
For three ... if you cant relate to the abstract of (J)esus,Odin or Mithra ... then celebrate the shortest day of the year .... when the Sun rests on the elliptic for 'three days'
... if it starts rising after that period ... GOOD NEWS .... you will be eating food in the coming year ... and you wont be freezing to bits on an ice planet
Besides the stars twinkle just that little bit brighter during the Winter months.
