I am one of those who found Manjaro at DW, and haven't seen it anywhere else that I can recall.  Not that I'm anything special, just saying that people that are not linux gurus like me might look there to search for what distros/releases will run on their particular hardware, or have certain versions of code supported (like kernel, grub, xorg in my case), or have options for certain desktops or window managers, for example.  I also use it to find reviews, hopefully helping me find the better choices for my needs.

So it isn't all bad, and I think its wise to want to be listed there.

Having tried 20 or more distros, I can say that many are not easy for a techie to install or run, let alone a "normal" person, whether they happen to be higher up the list or not.  There are only a few, for example, that are both full featured and can run on older hardware.  I have only found 5 or 6 that run reason reasonably on my old Dell Inspiron 8100, as well as my newer machines, and considering how fully featured and up to date Manjaro is, its to your credit that its one of them.

How hard is it for DW to just ignore all votes after the first one from one ip? Freezing/penalizing someone for "vote pumping" is exactly what a troll who wants to hurt a distro wants to happen.

Anyhow, click count is a very bad way to measure popularity, since only allowing one vote per ip effectively prevents NAT users from voting freely. And that is the only filter method possible short of registered account voting (which also is gameable).

DW is what it is.....it is helpful in a lot of ways. Users have the final say.

Best regards.
Be kind to everyone, because everyone is fighting some sort of battle.

maybe the distrowatch guys should stop ranking and stats altogether if they can't handle spams.
