Being this will be my first rolling release update I would like to know how to update to this release without loosing my data?

Use the update manager, Pamac or Octopi depending on which edition you installed.
Or you can use this on the command line.
Code: [Select]
sudo pacman -Syu
As long as you keep running the updates, you'll always be at the latest release.

Thanks. I guess it must have been that recent update then. How can I check which version of Manjaro I have to know for sure that it was that update?
Using the terminal is like installing a hand crank on a modern car and using that hand crank to start the car instead of using the electric starter.

Doesn't really matter, all updates to your system will bring you to the current state of what is in the repositories.
You just keep rolling, no need to ever re-install.'

However, you can just look in you /etc/lsb-release file to be sure.

Thanks. "DISTRIB_RELEASE=15.12" I don't notice anything different but all is good. I guess it's because I changed my theming.

You shouldn't notice much in the way of changes.
Updates on a rolling system seldom change user definable settings or installed applications.

OK. Thanks. That's good to know.

I'm happy to announce the newly released Manjaro KDE 15.2 ISO works flawlessly. I just installed it and there are no more delays when the green Manjaro bar reaches the end. Thank you for this prefect release. Great job!  ;D

Since the updates come in on daily basis you can install a working Ark with support of unrar from our pool folder:
Code: [Select]
sudo pacman -U http://repo.manjaro.org.uk/pool/sync/ark-15.12.0-2-$(uname -m).pkg.tar.xz
