Hello,
I installed the latest Fluxbox OpenRC with CLI installer on a btrfs subvolume. I've just a day before found out that the CLI installer can install into a subvolume without interfering with other existing subvolumes on a partition
Code: [Select]
$ sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt
$ ls /mnt
@  @201215  @211215  @data  @fluxbox  @fluxboxhome  @home  @mate  @matehome
Before finding this out and successfully testing it on a HDD I used to create a subvolume manually and copy the folders boot, bin, etc etc. (sorry for the pun ;) ) from another drive where I installed the system before. It almost always worked (only not properly with pure Debian and wattOS), it worked with Manjaro MATE, but when I copied Fluxbox OpenRC like that, it didn't work. I didn't reach the LightDM greeter, I was able to login with startx but my mouse and keyboard (both wireless) froze and there was no nm-applet in the system tray. I'm able to startx as root and can work properly then. I thought (after having asked artoo for his opinion) that it was some kind of copy failure. Then I discovered the ability of the CLI installer to install in a subvolume side by side of other subvolumes. Having tested this on a HDD I thought this will work on my SSD as well. I did the mistake, as I'm thinking of it now, to delete the @fluxbox subvolume and create a new empty one (for /home accordingly). Then I installed and now have the same login problem. I also noticed that no logs are being created.
Code: [Select]
$ ls /mnt/@fluxbox/var/log
ConsoleKit             grub.log    mkinitcpio.log   pacman.log
cups                   gssproxy    mount.pkgs.log   rc.log
faillog                lightdm     old              rsyncerror.log
grub_bios_install.log  livecd.log  pacman-live.log
Any ideas? You may ask me any questions. :)

Pulseaudio, or better libpulse doesn't work well without recompiling.
The package has systemd features enabled.

Thanks, artoo! I was alreardy thinking about uninstalling it, but wanted to make a photo and post it first. I can try to uninstall it, don't need it anyway.

You may try libpulse-nosystemd from AUR, we could think about adopting such package in the repos if it works. ;)

Well, removing pulseaudio with its dependencies didn't hel much. I'm still getting the same Unable to init server messages after startfluxbox only without pulseausdio parts now. And startx bings me to a screen with a frozen mouse and keyboard.

I have no clue with these fiddling and rudimentary desktops.
Bernhard is the man for that, he perhaps knows more if it fluxbox related.

I found a possible culprit, a wrong mount point in fstab, /home/Data instead of /home/eugen/Data. Shame upon me and sorry! :-[ But at least this might be a step forward.

After correcting the fstab I was able to login!!  :D :D :D ;D ;D ;D  Christmas can come now!

Thanks again, artoo! Must have been the same error with my first Fluxbox try.
