« on: 09. December 2015, 22:16:21 »
Manjaro Cinnamon 15.12.rc-1 released

This is the Release Candidate -1 Build for the Manjaro 15.12 iso build series.
Cinnamon 2.8 is already out for some weeks.
Stil The iso is behind the sheep :)

Whats new in cinnamon 2.8?

Better applets - Sound applet, Power applet, Workspace switcher System tray and Window list
    Visual improvements
Better settings - Display settings, Other improvements
    Better window management

Better backend - Settings daemon, Session manager
    Cinnamon 2.8 also features:

Better support for QT5 applications, which now look more native and use the GTK theme.
    Better XSMP support
Better logs (You can enable logs to ~/.xsession-errors via the “org.cinnamon.SessionManager debug” gsettings key. Logs now also include time delta information to help identify cases where an application makes the login or logout sequence lag).
A fully configurable auto-start blacklist (The key is in “org.cinnamon.SessionManager autostart-blacklist”. This was only partly configurable in previous versions.).

    Performance improvements and Nemo improvements

I am trying to download it now, :) I was waiting this version for 2 months now  :( .

Is this version the one you will support and upgrade from now one???

It seem that this link  : http://sourceforge.net/projects/manjarodev/files/users/ringo32/rc/cinnamon/15.12.rc-1/x86_64/   is not working proper.   :(I will try the 32 bit version on a pentium 4 system, let see if will work.

Live will hit you hard, just fight back as much as you can.

Since the Update Process has been super smooth with Cinnamon ...
been updating my Manaro Cinnamon since pre-1.
Completed a 450 mb update early this morning.
Shows that my computer is now running 15.12-rc1 Capella 64-bit.

With this new ISO release I think I'm still undecided whether to venture with new ISO installation method. See 1st statement above.

Thank You Ringo

if your pre-1 kept it will go farther above 15.12 since its a rolling release, is jjust a version on iso builds get on  a term like a cycle, but the base is rolling at the end you dont need to re-install, previews are test versions basicly.. but that is unstable i gues see /etc/pacman-mirrors.conf
or you have changed :)

if it works dont change it :) is always cool to have te last iso as backup..

Install medias are normally for new users or people who want to reinstall Manjaro. Normally you update it constantly.

@ringo
It was no problems I just downloaded the linux41-broadcom-wl package from the repo before installing manjaro and place it onto a usb, then once installed did pacman -U  along with grub-update. Evrything up and working good with this cinnamon release, but yeah I would suggest adding the broadcom package as default to image as it is a very common driver for most people.

Okay so will you be adding it to the mhwd detection? users like myself would assume there wifi is not supported if it is not working out of box, hence the reason I manually installed the package when it wasn't automatically detected and working.
