Strange, Budgie feels extremely sluggish and shows massive perfomance fluctuations and microfreezes on my testing machine, I7, Nvidia 570m non optimus, 16 GB of ram.
J.
I get similar performance issues apart from the microfreezes the curser spins for 30 secs after a program starts, start-up ram has gone up to 350mb from 300mb compare that to my Gnome3 setup 407mb at start-up makes me wonder if its really worth it anyway, I had no problems with the last version of the budgie-desktop that was very fast.
AMD 6 core Nvidia GT 551 8gb ram both running on gnome minimal 64bt same services blocked.
Compare with Solus 580mb start-up with the same hardware to my mind totally defeats the point as it is not in anyway a lightweight distro

I want to show with the screenshot the difference between Nautilus opened from menu (top right) and Nautilus opened by terminal (bottom right) - you see the icon in the second file manager window top left corner.
The second thing I show is that in the terminal I am running Htop, filtering for nm-applet and get no results.
I'm coming back to an old problem, because I'm happy to having solved it. This is an old schreenshot:

Now I changed s.th. within Tweak Tool -> Top Bar -> Show Application Menu - "Off"
On the attached screenshot you see the Tweak Tool window on the right. The option was turned on previously. This bug within Tweak Tool and also Control Centre, that the switch between On and Off is defined wrong, is frequent.
The other window on the left is Nautilus which now has a menu with Preferences, it is open.

Aaah man! This looks too good!
I have a few questions (excuse my ignorance):

1) Do Budgie DE have a application launcher (like XFCE does)?
2) Would one be able to use the Mutter WM in stead of the default?
3) Would thunar file manager be stable in Budgie? Alternatives?

And what is this story with the wifi icon disappearing? Sounds like a monstrous bug? haha

Budgie is not very customizable yet, or you need to know what you do. I would leave Nautilus and the WM alone, only install some Nautilus extesions to be able to open an admin window and edit a file as admin.

BTW, the panel crash bug with Arc theme is gone after the last testing update.

Hi guys .. Budgie for now is a gnome version more less and friendly gnome2 .. Ikey and solus dev/fan working for app to add in the future ( wheather and more  ::) )..
I have added in our repo the original theming for budgie like solus :
arc-theme-dark , arc-firefox-themes and moka-icon-theme .

For fun and for pleasure of eyes i and ... oberon  O:-) we decided to create themes for each plymouth though, is not a priority then will have a "development" slow but in the meantime for budgie ...
