Hello ... I was googling around but didn't find anything about this.

I removed my printer (Canon MX310) and tried to add it again through the gnome settings, but it never finished the adding.
So I tried to add through localhost:631 cups webinterface and got a strange error after clicking add printer:

List of printer drivers couldn't be found.
Success!

So I read the arch wiki on cups and found the command (which should list the drivers):
Code: [Select]
lpinfo -mI ran it as root but it hangs for a while and then just returns:
lpinfo: Success!

Anybody know whats going on? Cups changed a lot of systemd service names ... I already disabled the old ones and enabled the new ones, but it just got rid of a dependecy fail on boot, but didn't fix my problem.

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately that link doesn't go anywhere ... ;)
It doesn't look all too good for that printer to be used with Linux at all, I'm afraid  :o

The mx310 is in with the cups drivers so you have probably disabled cups or uninstalled it. Iwould reinstall cups + cups filters reboot.
lpinfo -m lists the driver for your printer

Thanks for your replies!
All cups packages (from extra 1 -9) are installed and before I originally posted, I already have tried reinstalling them. No change.

thanks but the canonmx310 has already worked fine before without configuration ... why would it be different now?
