Hi @oberon, nice version of manjaro!

One question, whats the difference between the other manjaro fluxbox version release a few weeaks ago?

I install your manjaro fluxbox version here, but i have a doubt...first time when i open lxterminal, open's normally, full with tab/panel, but, when i restart my manjaro, and try to open terminal again, the menu of lxterminal disapear, and i see only a fixed terminal in left top of my desktop, cover other app windows.

how can i solve this, and open terminal normally?

Again congratulations for this release.

Best regards

Have you installed it on hardware already? I know this problem of the terminal only in virtualbox. On my hardware install it is fine.
Lend27 reports the same problem when he is running Guvcview at the same time.
We don't know, yet, what the problem here is - however, I can only say that for me here it is not an issue on hardware ...
The differences to the 8.0.13.1 release are this:
Quote
numix-reborn-suite (icons, gtk-theme and wallpapers)
corresponding plymouth- and oblogout-themes
fbmenugen and preconfigured Favourites for automatic menu-creation
plank replacing wbar
dmenu-manjaro
imageviewer Geeqie
kernel 3.18
plus some bugfixes and new tweaks and a few new wallpapers, too ;)
manjaro is addictive ::)

Hi @oberon, thanks for answer me.
I think this is a fluxbox issue...just occur with terminal, sometimes they fixed in left corner, in bottom of fluxbox panel.
When i install(last week) netinstall and fluxbox, i have the same issue, but i can't solve this...now, i restart my machine, and works fine, but in some moment...the issue apear again..rs

About fluxbox 8.13 version and yout 15.10 version, in my test, your version is most beauty, light and fast,,,eat less memory than 8.13 version.
Well, i'm go to read fluxbox manual to see how solve this, if i find something, i post here.

Ah, when i try install manjaro fluxbox 15.10 in virtualbox, Calamares start normally, but crash during install. I just can install with cli installer in virtualbox.

Sorry about my english...i'm brazilian..rs

Thanks a lot for this great version of manjaro

Yes please! It really looks like a fluxbox bug. It's just very weird that it seems to happen with terminal apps only... ???

Hi oberon, I just want to say thank you for your hard work on making Manjaro Fluxbox. It is awesome, I didn't think I want to go another desktop environment after this one.

Thanks again.

Oh, thank you, hammy_283! :) That's very kind of you! :D
My current project on the fluxbox is still an improved behaviour of the menu and I hope to be able to deliver the result in a little wile as a package, so that it should be possible to integrate that on the already existing installations without a lot of fumbling around with those config files yourself ::) at least that's the plan ... ;D
See you around and enjoy your new Fluxbox!  8)

Hi @oberon,

About the issue in terminal, it occur when i press Alt F1 (Mod1 F1 keys) to open terminal, then, terminal open without menu.
See:

Other thing...the default account example in Hexchat, came with default user, manjaro-i3, not manjaro-fluxbox, or other thing.
I know this is only an example..rs

In fluxbox manual i can't find how can fix this issue in terminal, how can revert and show the menu/tabs, etc.

Best regards

Hi spylinux and oberon,

I also had this problem and many others also had this problem. The only way to get back to normal, I had to right on the terminal on the task bar and click close. Then restart my computer. Is it possible that it is lxterminal and not fluxbox?

[edit] I found this but I don't know if this will fix this problem.

Hi @hammy_283,

Is not lxterminal problem, because i install and test with rxvt-unicode and the issue persist.
Only when i restart, all back to normal..rs

I dont know...if it's a issue, a feature, a bug...

Hi spylinux,

It is indefinitely a bug. I looked into the fluxbox bug reports, http://sourceforge.net/p/fluxbox/bugs/?limit=250

I didn't find anything, maybe we could add it to the fluxbox bug list.

@hammy_283 and @oberon,

In #fluxbox channel (freenode), one guy told me to try install xterm and change key Alt F1 (Mod1 F1) to open xterm instead lxterminal, and Works!
Now, my terminal dont fixed in top of desktop without title bar and menu.

I dont know if its a fluxbox bug or a lxterminal bug in fluxbox, but, i will try with rxvt-unicode too.

Best regards

Hm. So this seems to be related to some terminal emulators... lxterminal, urxvt ? ...
My problem here is, I cannot reproduce this. For me everything works as it should - so difficult for me to be of any help right now.
If we know that xterm works that's already something and you can use that instead ;) I don't know about configuration, yet, to make that one look as good as lxterminal does, but we'll find out.... ;) Very interesting indeed that bug-report about cool-retro-term. But that one is quite old and seems like they did not solve it ... ???

Guys, when you launch lxterminal from another lxterminal window or another terminal, do you get any error messages when that happens?

To style xterm like lxterminal looks like you'd just have to create ~/.Xresources containing this:
Code: [Select]
XTerm*background: #ffffff
XTerm*foreground: #1f1f1f
XTerm*reverseVideo: on
XTerm*faceName: Terminus:size=11:antialias=true
And it's also useful to add
Code: [Select]
XTerm*selectToClipboard: true(copy/paste there works with middle-click and Shift+middle-click btw ... ::) ) ;) 8)

Is it possible to upgrade from 15.09 to 15.10 without new full installation? I just finished polishing my 15.09 ;)
