testbuilds Manjaro-Fluxbox 15.10
« on: 06. October 2015, 16:21:17 »
I have just uploaded a test ISO  (systemd, 64bit) for manjaro-fluxbox-15.10
Download from here.

The new release has been completely redesigned and comes with the beautiful new icon, gtk-theme and wallpaper suite Numix-Reborn by Ugo Yak and it even has its own new Plymouth-theme :o

(more screenshots in this thread.)

* Fbmenugen now lets you add new applications automatically while conserving the defined favourites. (Thank you @mandog for your valuable advice!)
* Plank now replaces wbar
* added dmenu-manjaro :o because it really just fits in so perfectly well, even if it's not typical flux...  ;) You launch it with <Super>+d ... and you will love it as soon as you get used to it, I am convinced! ;D - or just don't use it and forget it for now. It's so lightweight, it really won't hurt ;)
* new imageviewer Geeqie
* Kernel 3.18 on the install media for broader compatability
* both graphical installers Thus and Calamares aswell as the CLI-installer

Enjoy, test thoroughly and please give me feedback!  :)

Fixing is still needed for the currently not working lxmusic - I might just replace it with lxmusic-gtk3.
And I forgot to add the Screenshot-entries to the favourite-section of the menu. That will be done for the final build...

Here comes one more before the final release -  testing branch this time.
OpenRC, 32bit or Systemd, 64bit:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/manjaro-fluxbox/files/15.10_testing/

Now with:
* Improved configuration for fbmenugen
* new version of oblogout-manjaro

* new version of plymouth-theme-manjaro-circle
* added the small sane frontend simple-scan for scanning
* fixed gtk3 black window-frames (thanks to @fademind for the gtk.css tweak!)
* and included a little script to call the screenshooter from the menu-favourites, not to be overwritten by fbmenugen.

I will like forward to using the "new and improved" Manjaro-Fluxbox.   Downloading it now.

I have being using Manjaro-Fluxbox 15-09 ... so far, so good.

I have the 'original' Manjaro-Fluxbox (es) - last years version.

Great! ;D
The latest testbuild has just now finished uploading and is available here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/manjaro-fluxbox/files/15.10_testing/
:)
Have fun and let me know what you think!

edit:
I have since cleaned up the menu-generator file a little. If you like to use the latest one,
replace the content of ~/.config/fbmenugen/schema.pl with this here
The 'Restore original menu' will only work in the final version, but it will simply
Code: [Select]
mv ~/.fluxbox/menu_backup ~/.fluxbox/menu ;)

Bah, wait, that was not the right file :o ::) ... it was another systemd 64bit by accident.
The correct openrc 32 bit ISO is now uploading - stay tuned!
Sorry for that guys  ??? 8)

Hi, these really look awesome. Is it recommended to use the stable Version or is it unproblematic to use this testbuild on actual hardware?

I checked out your i3 as well. It looks fabulous but i think it's too different to what i'm used to. ;)

Hi Ves! :)
There have been some little improvements and alterations in the configuration since the 15.10rc build.
So I would say it's maybe good to use at least the testing branch version. That one I think should be fine and I will certainly not change much for the final, and if so, I can do most of it via package updates. If you want to switch to stable branch you can change that also quite easily.
For now I have only uploaded an OpenRC ISO in 32bit - not sure if this is what you would like to use...

Thank you, oberon. Its an older PC, so 32bit is indeed what i need and OpenRC is welcome as well. Downloading  ;D
