tiny little utility 'updpkg'
« on: 30. September 2015, 16:13:09 »
I've just made a tiny little utility named updpkg and updoaded it to the AUR.
When you have it installed you can run updpkg from a package-folder and it will
  • update the checksums
  • verify if the PKGBUILD is working
  • update pkgver= if a pkgver() function is present
  • create or update .SRCINFO
tips:
If you have a dated pkgver, just add this function to the PKGBUILD
Code: [Select]
pkgver() {
date +'%Y%m%d'
}
to have it updated automatically.

In case the number of source-files has changed, delete the old checksums and leave an empty
Code: [Select]
md5sums=()NB. The brackets are important! A plain md5sums= will result in everything below that being erased! :o

Hope this may be useful for some of you :)

Ok, so meanwhile one of Arch's Council of Elders has decided that updpkg is obviously not complicated enough to

rise to the level of a package.
and has filed a deletion request.
It is no longer available.  >:(
Thank you very much and congratulations: You have saved 876 Bytes of disk space on the Arch servers! :P

So add some useless features/more bytes, then resubmit.  To a different Elder horse's ass...
