[test] Manjaro Budgie Desktop RC1 minimal ISO
« on: 22. August 2015, 22:46:06 »
Hi at all community  :) i am happy to annunce the first ISO RC1 stable for Budgie-Desktop project

Quote
The Budgie Desktop tightly integrates with the GNOME stack, employing underlying technologies to offer an alternative desktop experience. In the spirit of open source, the project is compatible with and available for other Linux distributions.

Also note that Budgie can now emulate the look and feel of the GNOME 2 desktop, optionally, via a setting in the panel preferences. An example of this is shown in a screenshot further down.

At this time Budgie is heavily under development, and is hosted on GitHub. Contributions are always welcome, code, bug reports or otherwise!

https://solus-project.com/budgie/

this is a video

https://youtu.be/hwcoL83xRAQ

Now you can try budgie desktop outside of soluos and directly with a clean iso

This Iso is minimal configuration and present in our github repo iso profiles  :

No Aur support
No Java
No Flashplugin
No mediaplayer
only base system .
Theme and icon are the original from solusos project (Evopop Theme)
Wallpaper Botanicula , Thanks at Christian Morelli ( our google+ english community user )

Only x86_64 release for now , the final release both also i686

Now RC2 avaiable both 32bit and 64bit

Please check and report for suggestion

For laptop in live:
Code: [Select]
systemctl start wpa_supplicantthen entering key in parameters/network do the job without wired connection & logout  ;)
& in hard:
enable instead of start in command will work, I presume..

@STE74
I was wondering when someone was going to try this. What a beautiful job you've done here. The wallpaper is simply stunning. I'm trying it out on a USB stick and I will definitely be installing it on my older laptop to see what it can do. Budgie is a very nice combination of modern looks and old school efficiency. Thank you, you've made my day.  :)

GREAT WORK!

      Hello Budgie Manjaro Team

I've converted all my home computers to Manjaro and I have one laptop that I used Evo/Lution to do a pure virgin arch install.

No more Ubuntu freeze-ups <> I've joined the Manjaro "religion"

Okay now back to my question: Anyone can call me a Newbie and I won't be offended. Google searches remain my primary method of solving problems.
I use Maxthon Browser on all my computers. For some strange reason maxthon-browser-stable is no longer available in AUR Packages.
Please help suggest a way to have the Maxthon Package reinstated, as I don't know all the in's and out's of Arch User Repositories.

Thanks for all your hard work in creating perfect Distros.

Hi Rocky-IV,
if you don't find Maxthon Browser in the repo, it could that you can download an installer from the project's website. I did so with Pale Moon and Vivaldi and it worked both.
I cannot suppress a remark about Manjaro religion: To me Manjaro is more like Enlightenment, according to Kant (in free interpretation) "leading yourself out of self-made helplessness". You can learn how your operating system works, beacause you can customize many thing on various levels, choose from a vast variety of packages (sometimes modifying PKGBUILD file during installation) and talk to people here, learn from masters. Bookmark Manjaro Wiki and Arch Wiki.
But I can completely aggree with your praise for Manjaro developers!
Be welcome!

Well the only way I was able to download an official PKGBUILD for Maxthon was cheating by using the WayBack Machine in Internet Archive.org.
It was kinda a pain doing makepkg/building and install all manually. My brain doesn't work the way it used to (Dam brain surgery has turned my world upside down).

Yaourt didn't find maxthon. Google only had a cache of maxthon in AUR.
Who maintains Arch AUR Packages?  &  is there a way to make request to have maxthon-browser-stable reinstated in AUR Package Repositories.
