Freshly updated ISOs are online! :)
  • Now including an improved dmenu with recency- and terminal-awareness, meaning that it will list recently used applications first and it will remember if an app is to be launched in the background or in a terminal - of course everything blended into the manjaro-i3 design 8)
  • Window size for Calamares has been fixed
  • the OpenRC version has received a new i3exit script for Suspend, Hibernate and Shutdown
  • the Conkies have been converted to Conky 1.10 Syntax and
  • preconfiguration for fake transparency has been added in case you want to get rid of Compton

Is there a way to get the conf files if I want to try it without a reinstall?

The most elegant way to solve this would of course be to deliver some of the relevant files in a package... Will think of this more.
For the time being this is only true for the themes and the custom exit script i3exit
In any case you always have the latest file versions in the manjaro-tools-iso-profiles.
You will get them by installing the manjaro-tools packages, or you can git-clone the profiles or access the code here: https://github.com/manjaro/manjaro-tools-iso-profiles/tree/master/i3/i3-overlay/etc

One way to get the config files is to boot to the live session of the new release and copy them from there :)

Thinking twice, I think I can adapt the way of releasing from next time on quite easily and deliver the configs as part of manjaro-packages like 'dmenu-manjaro', 'i3status-manjaro' and maybe simply an 'i3-manjaro-package' with the custom config files. Anyway, the packaging will have to be in a way that existing config files will not automatically be overwritten with an update. You will then just get something like a '...config.new' file or so...  8)
