[QT5] Release 2.0 of redshiftconf
« on: 02. June 2015, 15:08:10 »
CARE : The icon doesn't appear in Xfce, so it's unuseable in this DE for the moment.
Works with Lxqt and Kde

Hi all  :)

I restructured this program around an icon that can remain permanently in the notification area.
  • simple click on this icon turns redshift on/off
  • rigt click on this icon allows to configure/quit the program

Configure opens the configuration windows :

to see the results of the configuration, click again on the icon. When ready, close the configuration windows. The Latitude/Longitude is preset automatically by geolocation when possible.

redshifconf can be run at start or thru Menu -> Utilities.

To install it : yaourt -S redshiftconf
(0.07 Mb installed)

Any request for improvement is welcome.  ;)

Very nice, thank you! :)

I've tested it with KDE4 and noticed the following:
  • Always except the first time after it is launched, I have to click twice on the icon with either the left or right mouse button to toggle Redshift or bring up the context menu. After the first click, what happens is the focus is taken away from other windows, nothing else.
  • When I toggle Redshift by left clicking, the icon disappears temporarily and appears again on the left side of all other icons, as if the application was killed and run again. (This doesn't happen with redshift-gtk.)

Otherwise, I like it a lot. Especially because it can be configured from the GUI (unlike redshift-gtk) and it's Qt-based.

1) can't reproduce here...

2) also not with lxqt. Whe I toggle, i hide the icons, change it, and shows again set the icon invisible, change the icon, and set icon visible. Normally, it must not change the position ? To see, thanks for the info.

(edit)

It's not necessary to set the icon invisible and after visible, i can suppress that. It will probably solve this problem.

Yes, now it stays in one place for me.

As for the other issue, most of the time one click is enough now, but not always. I'm not sure why.
