When my next wages arrive, I will donate some.

Also, when you are in need of some hardware, let me know, I work at the biggest online (refurbished) computer store in the Netherlands. We sell top-brands at give-away prices. I can see what I can do (we also donate to good causes).

Cheers, Tincto

This is a good a pretty cause, I think :-)

If I understood well, can donations like these be linked for money laundering as there is no receipt at all?

I look forward to your Paypal option, as old school is very complex here in China, Paypal is much easier.

Paypal donation is since long ago supported in http://manjaro.github.io/donate/

(*) the first time I installed Manjaro I was (I'm still) so impressed with this that I donated using PP :-P

When I look at the details: It is apparently a transfer to a German bank account - there is no way you could hide an account like that from the eye of the law... That's not how you would attempt to launder money imo ;)
As far as I know there is no real difference between a receipt on paper and a bank or credit card transfer to a legitimate account - people please correct me if I'm wrong!

I only just realized that Paypal is working now, so I donated.
I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank the Manjaro team. Not only is Manjaro a great distro, I have now successfully started eliminating Win 7 and Win 8.1 PCs in our household. Win 7 mediacentre is now Manjaro+Tvheadend+Kodi. Manjaro has proven less work to maintain (less antivirus updates, removing of unintentionally installed toolbars etc. that now come with so much software) and brought a lot of fun back into computing. So thanks.

Funny stuff, after I made my firs donation to Manjaro my computer crashed the first time with Manjaro. I think it was Palemoon browser together with hot weather.

Hi,

I don't really know if it goes against the Manjaro team's principles or not, but Patreon might also not be a very bad idea. I wouldn't have anything against donating a few euros every month for the development of this distribution to make sure that it keeps going. A few euros might not be a big deal, but if many people jump in on the idea, it could provide a pretty nice support for the devs' hard work. :)

Hope Patreon have audited their database security recently https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patreon o_0

On the principles i think Manjaro shares the sensible ideals of most Linux distributions ... to be open and co-operative with both the Free Software and Open Source ... we live in a mercantile world, and to be honest financial incentives and programming bounties do produce better and quicker applications than simple philanthropy, the added bonus is the community benefits Enterprise features ... inversely,Free Software acts as a good regulator ... as a brake to some of the more destructive elements of competition - for instance,i dont possess a Facebook account, yet Facebook attempts to track my activity on sites that have no connection to it,its an abuse... FB is a social networking facility it does not warrant super powers!

But @Kallestofeles,im sure your appreciation, will have been humbly acknowledged by the Manjaro developers :) ... and a widest selection of funding methods would be preferred - the issue for most of the smaller disributions is manpower to arrange such things ... a labour of love for many ;)

Are you able to accept donations via bitcoin ? (if need be using bitpay or similar to convert to euros, but servers these days can be paid in bitcoin directly)

Its there: http://manjaro.github.io/donate/
:)

Yes it's there and it works great.  Hope it's okay to revive this topic in the interest of reminding users (like me) to donate
money to keep Manjaro going.

I'm one of those users who has come here over and over again before joining, to get info and read around the forums.  It is
expensive to keep a site like this going.

Forgive me for being a Manjaro fanboi.   ;D
