GIMP segmentation fault
« on: 02. February 2013, 00:11:33 »
Gimp seg faults as an ordinary user but starts with root privileges.
I have unstable repos enabled here with a fully updated system.
Please ask for any specific information as required.
cheers

No issues here. Start it form a terminal and post the error messages.

Code: [Select]
[bra10n@manjaro ~]$ gimp
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
I've switched from unstable to the testing repo's with the same result.
Uninstalled, re installed. No difference here.

UPDATE: I found that GIMP works with a newly created user. How to fix this?

[Solved] Re: GIMP segmentation fault
« Reply #4 on: 03. February 2013, 02:02:16 »
Solved.
Due to a missing .gimp-2.8 folder from ~/  ::)
No idea how this happened but I copied one across from a guest account, fiddled with permissions and now all is well.
Thanks for the responses.
