If your mirrorlist is old then some of them might be offline or inactive.
Thus errors are normal.
But I don't see "HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found" - just "Error".

I update frequently (every few days) and also refresh my mirrorlist then - so I have very few unreachable mirrors in the list.

You can try to edit /etc/pacman-mirrors.conf and use only mirrors in your own country or near you:
Code: [Select]
## Specify to use only mirrors from a specific country
## Disabled by default
OnlyCountry=Germany
The check will be faster but the list of servers to choose from might be quite limited for your country.

The mirrors in the example are close to you and also long term reliable as far as I know.

You don't have to do this - it was just a suggestion.
If you want to edit that file, you have to do it as the root user. It is a system file only writable by root.
Use whatever editor you are familiar with.
Start it from a terminal as the root user - like this:
Code: [Select]
sudo gedit /etc/pacman-mirrors.conf
(if your editor is "gedit" - I don't know which editor you have installed)

Cheers

Code: [Select]
/etc/pacman-mirrors.conf
##

## Branch Pacman should use (stable, testing, unstable)
Branch=stable

## Generation method
## 1) rank   - rank mirrors depending on their access time
## 2) random - randomly generate the output mirrorlist
Method=rank

## Specify to use only mirrors from a specific country
## Disabled by default
# OnlyCountry=Germany

## Input mirrorlist directory
MirrorlistsDir="/etc/pacman.d/mirrors"

## Output mirrorlist
OutputMirrorlist="/etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist"

this is my mirror....

That is the file which controls how your mirrorlist is created.
Code: [Select]
sudo pacman-mirrors -g
will do that.

What I suggested was cutting down the number of mirrors that are probed by uncommenting the one line
(remove the "#" in front of: # OnlyCountry=Germany)
But: it was a just suggestion, something you might try.

You should be fine using the command:
Code: [Select]
sudo pacman-mirrors -gwithout editing the file.

Sorry for the confusion.

[edit]: fix typo
