Thank You for the good work!
Just installed the PRE2 and everything seems to be working well so far.
 :)

I am a long time Pekwm user and new to this forum ...

Just one question ... As far as I see the stable-repos are used ...
So is there any problem upgrading to the final version once it comes out
and using it like the 0.8.10 version?

Welcome, glad to know that we have experienced PEK users enjoying our work.

As for your question you can use, you can use 8.10, it will always be upgrading.

You don't have to do/change anything. It's a rolling release, just keep it updated.

@ tropper & mips ...
Thanks a lot for the replies! - I was just not shure if I ended up in a kind of experimental repo.

So as far as I understand it now, the new 0.8.11PRE2 is develped on top of the stable manjaro-repos.
By updating regularely it sooner or later will become the 0.8.11 stable ManjaroPek.
I will just "keep on rollin'"
 ;)

No problemo, enjoy!

This is a awesome spin.

There will probably be a few minor changes before the final release is out so just keep an eye on the PEK section of the forum to see what's going down. For example there might be a new slim theme https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=17204.msg159858#msg159858 Config changes etc are usually uploaded here https://bitbucket.org/manjaropek/manjaropek

Been using ManjaroPek for about a week now, I didn't need to use catfish until just now. In order to get it to work I needed to install mlocate, so maybe this should be included by default. (One possibility is that it was but I removed it, if this is the case then I'm sorry for mentioning it)  8)
Didn't we already pass that same stack of rocks twice?

Nice,and thanks.
Er, one small thing and I'm sure to many others it doesn't matter.
The volume label of your iso remains at MJRO_0811, it should be MJRO0811.
All other Manjaro iso labels is labelled correctly as MJRO0811.
I test a lot of Manjaro versions and I boot up the isofiles, so I've set up my grub entry and just modify to point the right iso.
With manjaropek, I must rechange the label from MJRO0811 to MJRO_0811 (which I often forget).

Thanks.

Thanks!

Manjaropek cames installed with many apps yet it (live) boots up fast.
And so I now boot up Manjaropek iso live where I previously used my own modified remastered OS (remastered - has to be Ubuntu/Debian) isofile.
Manjaropek has lots more apps than my remastered iso, but only one app is missing - Tor. Can I hope to request........   :)

Cheers!

You know I was just kidding, right?
Added this just in case other people get "pissed off".

Yes, relative to other Manjaro versions, Manjaropek livecd has smplayer, qbittorrent,  firefox, and others, etc.
Usually only at installation will Turbulence lets users choose which other apps to install.

Whatever approach, I personally think each have merits; I usually agree that minimal apps in livecd is ok and up to users to install whichever they like. What I am saying is that since Manjaropek has more apps (relative to other Manjaro versions), it does fill a nice niche for someone like me who do more livecd booting (relative to other people). And since it boots much faster than other 'full-fledged' livecds (like Ubuntu, Mageia, Suse,,,most all others than Manjaro), it is 'exceptional' in that sense.

Again, I stress I understand I am part of a minority doing this, but still......   it's nice.

So that's just my point and thanks.

ps: I am typing this from Manjaropek live boot. Nice.

My biggest fear wrt manjaropek is that people are gonna demand to include xyz like what happened with the OB edition and you end up with this monstrosity which should have been a lightweight release...

No fear. I think people can 'request' (definitely not 'demand') whatever they like, and just to accept whatever the developer decides.
And yes, if people don't like it , they can do the iso themselves or go elsewhere.
But there's no need for any er, ... 'pissing'  :)

Cheers, mips. I'm with you, just maybe ...not so pissed up.  :)   LOL
No offence meant, just good natured 'ribbing' intended.
Take care.
