I've just changed to kwin (from AUR). It has pulled 42 dependencies, 80MB (18MB of which is kwin's). I've also yaourted systemsettings (with a few more dependencies, 30MB). But if you don't have kde4 you need to edit pkg before building. Very easy; just change

Code: [Select]
-DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/opt/kf5 \to
Code: [Select]
-DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr \
And then I had to put this in .bashrc:

Code: [Select]
export XDG_CONFIG_DIRS=/usr/etc/xdg:/etc/xdg
That's it. Now launch system settings, add decorations and configure kwin. Config files are added to ~/.config and aurorae themes to the ~/.local/share/aurorae

Interesting, but a bit too early. Lxqt is almost 3 months old, qt5 less, we must leave to this young DE a bit of time.

It can be not really easy ?

It would may be interesting to write a page on kwin for lxqt in the wiki. But first, we must write a page for federate the others, a summary. For the moment, it's in disorder.

It's really that easy (at least in my system). Now, that unminimise problem I've been getting has gone. Only two issues for the time being:

1. Window title text size is bigger than it should be.
2. Keyboard shortcuts for kwin.

I'd exported kde shortcuts previously when using KDE, but that file doesn't show the real commands as kwin is used by dbus commands, or something like that. If anyone know anything about it, please do not be reticent!

In the dev submenu there must some qt dbus entry, but I can't see it!! How can I enable dev submenu Esclapion? (Yes, I've downloaded the new ISO but…)

Sorry not being clear. I mean I've downloaded the new ISO, but not yet installed. I've found the name of that dbus utility: qdbusviewer. Launching from runner.

OK, I build now a new 64 bits ISO with minor changes :

  • windows of Thus and Pavucontrol are no more ugly (or less  ;D)
  • schpankme's modif about panel and icon size

The icons are now all of the same size (thanks for the trick) and the icon of network-manager is no more ugly too.

May be I will upload this ISO, but I wait to see if there are others minor changes to do.  :D

Sorry also, I was not awake*.  :D  Go into ~/.local/share/desktop-directories, there are 2 files *.directory. Leave lxde-other.directory and suppress (or rename with another suffix) the other (I don't remember its name).

I'm running with Kwin but I just installed the KF5 version, it only had 2 dependencies and is running great here.

Wil those problems be fixed in next 32bit iso? And video tearing.

You've probably already got most of it.

Intel graphics tearing is common: https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=6270.0

I'm using glamor for my acceleration method with the TearFree option enabled.

Video tearing has probably nothing to do with Lxqt, but with your graphic cards.

(edit)

Too slow  :)

Nope, KF5 is more modular than the KSC was, there are only two dependencies for kwindowsystem:
qt5-x11extras libxfixes

and of course QT 5 but that's expected.
