i would like to add that i PM'd pingodindo and we talked like adults, all good

That's a relief. I was hoping it wouldn't come to a southwest Texas, no-holds-barred, full-cage, lights out, death match.

I hope that Manjaro will be back where it belongs. We have been in the top ten of Distrowatch already and now have dropped a little. And i have looked at the figures for 0.8.9: from february 27th to the end of march we had a whopping 110.00k for the official flavours alone. More than 41k downloads in one week ! And even two months after 0.8.9 came out, in may, we still hat a solid 14k downloads per week. But then our numbers are still quite impressive: We have a solid 10k weekly downloads a week, let's hope it stays that way. We had a little over 70k downloads from june, 9th to today. So yes we dropped from 110k downloads in a little over a month to 70k downloads but that still is an impressive amount of downloads which shows that despite the problems there is still a huge userbase behind this distribution.

Manjaro already represents the future of Linux. And for that you can be proud!

I can't thank enough all of you guys (devs and community) for Manjaro itself and all the support you guys provide.

Cheers mates!

I think a lot of users coming to Manjaro is coming from spatry's camp and not distrowatch. And if I've understood right we've been held back  by DW 'cause of the pumping of numbers stuff. If that's right our "real place" is higher than what's showing. Which I'm pretty sure it is :)

We aren't zeroed out by DW as of yet. You'll realize when that happens because then we really get zero hits. Nada. Niente.

OK - then I obviously misunderstood. I thought they only cut down the numbers.

On the other hand, moderating is time consuming, Afaik. I wouldn't be surprised if someone tried their hand at that thinking it to be like a day at the beach to eventually drop out, realising they have no time or can't be bothered to deal with trolls…

Manjaro is the 15th most popular in terms of downloads according to distrowatch.com. It was 18th about 3 days ago. I can picture it at no. 1 in a few months!

We were at no 6 a few months back :)
Personally I think we belong up there; 5-8, and remember that Manjaro is still in beta :)
Just wait for version 1.0 is all I say :)

And this still has nothing to do with downloads. We have aroung 10k downloads per week. We had over 40k at the best times but we still have a lot of people who are obvióusly interested in Manjaro. It depends on when the last new version came out. After a new version, we usually rise up in DW. We didn't rise as much as before but it should be a matter of time until we get back in the top 10. We all can do something to make things work. At least say thanks from time to time to those people who bring Manjaro to you and those people who work hard to keep the forum a happy place.

+ 1
show some appreciation for the work people are doing so that we can have this distro. Don't take it all for granted
