If they can pull this off and have a desktop that looks like and functions like Xfce only using Qt then they'll have something once more packages and stuff become available for Qt.

Xfce is a destop, lxde (now lxqt) another. The goal is to have a lot of possibilities, not to copy exactly xfce.

Nice job. I will try on my side.

Maybe we can move your message on a qt-applications topic ?

I thought the goal was to have something that looked and worked like Xfce but used Qt instead of gtk?  Either way, if they can get LXQt to look and run like Xfce only using Qt they'd have a winner on their hands because I really love Xfce but know that gtk isn't what most Distros are moving to now days. Qt seems to be the "future" so that's the direction things need to move in.

The goal isn't for it to work/look like Xfce, it's a combo of LXDE and Razor-qt, which makes it KDE-ish, but lighter, with LXDE elements.

That may be the case but it STILL looks a lot like Xfce to me. Whatever the reason it'll probably be a decent enough desktop once they get it fully up and running and get a few features added and some bugs worked out.

It's also Openbox-based, so already a lot faster and lighter than xfce.
