headphones + microphone combo jack
« on: 13. March 2016, 20:05:06 »
Hi, I'm trying to get working the microphone that comes in the same cable than the headphones. If I connect it to the headphones port I will only have output sound and if I connect them to the mic port I will only have input sound. Is there anything I can do to have both working at the same time?

This is the cable:

There is nothing muted in the alsamixer, I also increased the levels.

Thanks.

If you don't have a combined headphone+microphone jack, then there's nothing you can do. You can't alter a lack of a physical connection via software.

check to see if anyone makes a splitter, that turns a combined jack into two separated jacks?

EDIT:

this might be what you need:

Ah right! So the problem was the connector. Thanks, I'll buy the splitter.
